Bob's Red Mill Organic Multi-Grain Pancake & Waffle Mix 24 oz

Has a gummy texture and tastes awful. Would not buy again.

I bought this week and tried it this morning. Pancakes were gummy. I threw the rest of the mix in the compost. I like some of the other mixes such as the 7-grain pancake mix.

Needed a healthy grain pancake mix for my sweet tooth

My dad made these pancakes every Sunday if my youth. At the time I was envious of the other kids’ with the grocery store brand pancake mix. Now I realize how lucky I was to be able to be nourished by my breakfast that also happened to be delicious. I cant wait to try these as an adult and relive the memories and cant wait to make them for my kids some day!!!

I purchased the 7 Grain Pancake and Waffle Mix for pancakes and found I did not like it and I did use twice. So I looked up this website for recipe ideas and found Raspberry Jam Swirl Cake. I modified the recipe to make my own creation, Raspberry/Orange/Cranberry/Pecan Bread. I replaced a few ingredients, Orange Extract in place of Vanilla or Almond; Cashew Yogurt in place of Greek yogurt. I added a few ingredients, 1 cup of frozen and chopped cranberries, using my blender to chop the berries; 1 cup chopped pecans. I added more of the 7 Grain Pancake & Waffle Mix as I found it needing more thickness, 1/2 cup more. I baked in my oven at 360 for 60 minutes because that is how long it took for the toothpick to come out clean. This morning we had this tasty bread lightly toasted in our toaster oven with a light buttery spread and a delicious cup of coffee. It was not a disappointment and I will make this again and again!

I did not like the texture of this product as a pancake and was going to throw the rest of the bag out after two uses, but decided to look up website to find other ways to create a delicious item. I found a recipe for this Raspberry cake. While I did not follow the recipe verbatim my end result was fabulous. Instead of adding Almond or Vanilla extract to the batter, I added Orange extract. The batter called for greek yogurt/ I used Cashew yogurt. I found I needed to add more than the required measurement of 7 Grain Pancake & Waffle Mix, 1 3/4 cup, I added an additional 1/3 cup to almost half. I added chopped frozen Cranberries and Chopped Pecans (used my Blendtec). I did top the cake with the required Raspberry Jam, Trader Joes has a great one. This morning I cut us a few slices and popped them in the toaster oven and we enjoyed them with a bit of buttery spread (Cholesterol reducing buttery spread). Much tastier than pancakes and the toasted texture of the edges were exceptional with a sip of freshly brewed coffee, with, (Pea Milk I can only find at Ralphs). I wrapped the rest in a air sealed bag and will probably make for some group gatherings.

I was going to throw the remainder of my package away since I did not find the pancakes very desirable in texture. I looked up the website and looked for recipes and came across the Raspberry Jam Swirl. The recipe calls for Greek yogurt, I used Cashew Yogurt. It also called for 1 1/4 c. 7 Grain Pancake and Waffle Mix, I used 1/2 cup more...1 3/4 cup in total. The recipe called for Almond or Vanilla extract, I used Orange extract. I also added 1 cup frozen cranberries that I chopped in a blender, and 1 cup pecans also chopped. I topped with the Raspberry Jam that I like from a place I shop TJ. The recipe says to bake on 350 for 40-43 minutes. I found I needed to adjust the heat of my oven to 360 and it took 60 minutes to bake into the center. The end result was a delicious orange/cranberry/pecan/ raspberry breakfast bread. I made some slices and popped in our toaster oven and used some buttery spread and sipped my morning coffee. My husband and I both enjoyed this immensely and I would use this again for other sweet breads. I may try making a zucchini bread next since there is enough to make one more!

Love the mix! Just one suggestion, let the batter rest for about 5 minutes before pouring on the griddle. Your pancakes will be much lighter and have more loft!

I have loved this pancake mix for many years, as have the kids and grandkids. We don't make pancakes very often so I store the opened bag in the freezer. I won't feed my family pancakes made out of empty white flour, with a bunch of sugary toppings. Nope! This healthy whole grain mix makes up for all the fun sugary toppings we use !! :-)

This mix is “mine”. I love the flavor and taste as well as how goo they make Belgian waffles. When the family is “on their own for dinner” it means waffles for me! Some blackberries, strawberries and blueberries on top and who needs syrup?!

This easy to make pancake mix is a delicious short cut for a quick breakfast. This year I tried making savory pancakes by adding vegetables like grated zucchini, grated carrots, chunks of elephant garlic and minced Padron peppers. Simply outstanding!

This mix makes light and fluffy wholegrain pancakes. Delicious.

This and the buttermilk and 10 grain waffle/pancake mixes are our favorites. I've tried nearly every other brand I've seen and these three pancake mixes are mine and my daughter's favorites. She likes them with a little fresh ground nutmeg, sometimes a bit of allspice, vanilla, and chocolate chips. I mix with an egg, sometimes adding Bob's Red Mill ground flax seed and/or some Bob's Red Mill almond protein powder to make it a meal that will get her through lunch time without an energy crash.

Love it! Took 5 minutes to make the batter so breakfast was super quick and healthy. Will definitely buy again.. I added 1 ripe mashed banana and a little cinnamon to the batter.

How can 7 grains be anything but good. My husband loves pancakes and I don't usually keep around 7 grain flours anymore since the kids grew up and I don't bake as often. This is a wonderful convince to use and take on trips.

My daughter just loves the pancakes that I made with this mix. Actualy, the entire family enjoys them as well. I had to make a double batch recipe every time. It's very tasty and not salty. It has good textures.

Did not like these pancakes at all. They had a gummy consistency. Were a little better after sitting for a few minutes, but honestly they went into the trash.

I just tried this for breakfast this morning, with your egg replacer to make it vegan. Absolutely delicious, fluffy whole grain pancakes, easy to mix and to cook. I had it with real maple syrup. This is so much better than traditional brands of whole wheat mix. Even my husband enjoyed it, and he is not vegan. It also left me full, with just 2 small pancakes. Very satisfying breakfast!

Makes very fluffy waffles. I cut the oil requirement in half - just add more water to thin it out.
