**Bose QuietComfort Ultra Review: A Mixed Experience**

I recently purchased the Bose QuietComfort Ultra over-ear headphones in the stunning 60th Anniversary Diamond color, and I must say, my experience has been a blend of admiration and frustration. Let’s break down the pros and cons. **What I love:** First off, the *noise-canceling* experience is outstanding. Bose has truly nailed it in this department, as the level of immersion and reduction in ambient noise is phenomenal. It's a perfect companion for my travels, and I can easily tune out the world around me. I also noticed a significant improvement in the *sound quality*. The audio feels much crisper and more detailed compared to previous models in the QuietComfort line. Additionally, the ability to *switch between different modes* using the app and even customize my own settings is a fantastic feature. This level of control allows me to tailor the listening experience to my surroundings, which I greatly appreciate. The *60th Anniversary Diamond color* is gorgeous as well, giving the headphones a premium and stylish look. It’s a nice touch that makes them stand out. **Where I’m disappointed:** However, there are some aspects of the QC Ultra that leave me frustrated. One of my favorite features in previous Bose models, especially the Noise Cancelling 700s, was the *touch controls*. With a simple swipe, I could skip tracks or pause music effortlessly. Unfortunately, this feature is *missing* in the QuietComfort Ultra, which feels like a step back in usability. Instead of touch controls, you now have to press physical buttons multiple times to perform basic functions like pausing music or skipping to the next track. It's just not as *user-friendly* or efficient, especially for someone like me who travels frequently and relies on simple gestures to navigate. Another issue I’ve encountered is the *difficulty in changing modes or adjusting noise-canceling levels*. I find it time-consuming to do this through the buttons or app, which is a little frustrating when compared to the simplicity of past models. This lack of seamless control detracts from the overall experience. **Conclusion:** While I still enjoy the sound and noise cancellation of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra, and the color is a great addition, I can't overlook the lack of *touch controls* and the cumbersome mode-switching process. For those who loved the touch functionality of the Noise Cancelling 700s, this change might be a deal-breaker. I’m unsure if I’ll keep these headphones in the long term; I might return them and wait for the next version that may bring back the features I miss. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the overall quality, but it’s just not as convenient as previous models.

Hi Bryce, thanks for your review of the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones! I'm happy to hear that you're impressed by the noise cancelling and crisp audio quality, and that you also love the look and feel of the Diamond version! As for the touch controls, don't forget you have the volume strip for turning the volume up (swipe up) and down (swipe down). You can also set a Shortcut in the Bose app, enabling you to 1. quickly cycle through your Immersive Audio settings, 2. access Spotify, 3. use your mobile device's voice control, or 4. hear the battery level, all without having to get your phone out and use the app. Just touch and hold the volume strip to access your Shortcut. I hope this information is useful! If we can assist any further in helping you get the very best out of your headphones, our customer support team will be delighted to help: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. Comfortable. Noise cancellation gets thumbs up. Disappointed that you are required to pay $11 per month to have use of the Bose app to have access to set the settings to your preface.

I've owned and tried many headphones in the past, ranging from reasonably priced items to so-called audiophile products (which all come from the same overseas OEM factories). However, the Bose QC Ultra hits the goldilocks zone. It offers a surprisingly low price and high-quality unit that is compact yet comfortable. I hope to see more improvements in the software in the future. I still miss the good old Bose products with the 'Made in USA' label.

I got the QuietComfort Ultra headphones a few weeks ago to replace an eight- year old QuietComfort set after much use started to have power switch problems (8 years is a great lifetime for electronics). These ones are even better. The sound quality is excellent. I love the immersive mode - it makes music sound great. The aware mode is great too. The music quality is still superb, but I can wear them without being oblivious to the world, and I can have a normal conversation with people.
Probably the Best Headphones, Personal Preference

Outstanding. Luxurious operations, such as taking headphones off or putting on Best noise canceling headphones in the world. Also has aware setting Sound quality is subjective, the best or personal preference not the best, you decide. Deep bass creates a different sound than midrangy-bass headphones, personal preference. Has immersion settings, again personal.preference Way better than my value-priced JBL headphones. Way better headphones than most others. Drawback is the high price I own several quality headphones. These by Bose are the best.

I've had these for a few months and they're amazing. My only problem is they don't like to turn on properly after I've charged them, I usually have to hold my power button for 10 seconds before I can properly power them on. I just hope this review gets seen and a firmware update gets pushed out for it if that's possible. Other than that, I would definitely buy another pair!
