I received this as a gift about three years ago. At about a year it stopped working and wouldn't charge. I've since learned this is a problem that happens regularly with this product. I investigated online and learned how to reset it and got it to power up and work again. About six months later I had the same issue and went through all the recommended "fixes" but it never started working again. I trashed it and bought a new one. One year in and this one is starting to do the same thing. I'm in the process of doing online research, trying to get it working again, which may or may not work. Bottom line - I shouldn't have to put in this much time and effort to get my speaker to work consistently. I will never buy another of these speakers.
I started having connectivity issues with this speaker the very first day. After checking online, I saw that I was not the only one having problems with this. There are issues with the speaker not turning on, shutting off on its own and having no clear reason as to the issue, therefore having no clear way to resolve it. If I connect it to my laptop, I have to "forget" the connection on my phone and attempt to re-pair it EVERY TIME I want to connect the two again, which can take up to 5 minutes of pairing and disconnecting trying to get them to pair. There are way too many issues with these speakers to make them a viable choice when scouting out bluetooth speakers. Despite their quality sound and design, they're just not worth the constant headache that comes with owning one.
I bought mine in 2017 for the backyard and I love it. It’s been dropped, bitten(dog), targeted by blue jays and nuthatches. Fog,rain, snow, backseat in August for a week, this thing still rocks! The only source of entertainment for a six week kitchen renovation it was glued, painted, drywall dust, drywall mud, grouted and it still rocks! Battery life wasn’t great from the get go and I knew this going in, but I was willing to sacrifice that for sound quality. To be honest I listen to rock about 99% of the time and this is a nice rock speaker for this price point. Hey if you’re over 50 and still like to crank Metallica this speaker won’t disappoint you!
I have no idea what these people are talking about. I have had no connectivity issues. The sound is phenomenal depending placement vs size of the room. I've had mine for about four years now, and I'm on the site to buy another. Great buy!
