Q: Does the newer filters fit in my old pitcher? When I put the water in the top it runs right through to the bottom - it does not hesitate the way it did with the older filters. Is it filtering?

submitted by kate - 9 years ago
  • A: Yes it fits place the filter in a large drinking glass filled with water for about five minutes and you put it in the picture turn it slightly to the right or the left and I guarantee it will fit and work

submitted bybob sun city az - 9 years ago
  • A: The new filters are improved so they are much quicker at filtering the water, but yes they are filtering.

submitted byGuest - 9 years ago
  • A: If your dispenser or pitcher is an older model, and you see any space around the edge of the filter when it's fully "seated," then it may not be filtering correctly. I ended up buying a new dispenser because I didn't trust that the water was being filtered after the filters changed to their current design. I contacted the company and they were no help--just told me to line up the groove to the filter, but the entire filter was popping out of place (I'd see it floating minutes after I filled up), so I'd say the new filter design is no longer compatible with older dispensers. After getting a new dispenser, I can see a big difference in the way the filter creates a seal. I think the company should stop saying that the filters are compatible with all filters and dispensers.

Q: Will these seat properly -- wait for it -- in a Target "Up&Up" pitcher?

submitted by John - 8 years ago
  • A: Hi there, John. Our filters are designed to fit in all of our Brita pitchers, except the Stream. We hope this information is helpful. Jess from the Brita team

  • A: Yes. I have an Up & Up 7 cup pitcher that I purchased 3/2020. I just purchased the 4 pack of Brita filters today 5/2020, They fit better than the Up & Up in my opinion and are a lot easier to remove. You just push the filter firmly down into the hole and it's a very snug fit.

Does absolutely nothing please read my review

So I have been using Brita pitchers for years. And then I bought a Culligan zero water pitcher oh my God so it has this little meter on it for you to test your water tested my water out of the tap it read 274 tested my water coming out of both my Brita pitchers. 270. Put my pitcher together tested the water just to make sure and it read 274. Filled up the Culligan one and the little meter goes into the pitcher and It read zero. So then I decided to test my distilled water which you would think would have very low readings, like that distilled water that you buy in the jugs, nope. They came in at 120. I was kind of upset so I went over to my neighbors house and tested their water it read about the same, 272 , she also has a Brita pitcher so I tested that and it read 198. So basically I’ve been wasting my time drinking water out of the Brita pitchers all these years, thinking it was doing something. And wasting my money buying distilled water. Crazy I’m kind of mad honestly. So my advice is not to buy Brita pitchers or filters. You were literally just throwing your money away.

Thank you for the opportunity to discuss our Standard Filters and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Meg. We don't make claims about TDS reduction at Brita, because TDS isn't a measurement of water safety. It's only an aesthetic (taste) measurement. Additionally, TDS is not even an aesthetic measurement everyone wants to reduce, since TDS includes minerals widely considered beneficial, like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Lastly, water taste and aesthetics are highly subjective. 100% removal of TDS does not guarantee better-tasting water. To learn more, please call our team at 800-242-7482 and mention ref# 260514-000595. We apologize for your disappointment and look forward to speaking with you soon. Shannon from The Brita Team
