Q: Does the newer filters fit in my old pitcher? When I put the water in the top it runs right through to the bottom - it does not hesitate the way it did with the older filters. Is it filtering?

  • A: If your dispenser or pitcher is an older model, and you see any space around the edge of the filter when it's fully "seated," then it may not be filtering correctly. I ended up buying a new dispenser because I didn't trust that the water was being filtered after the filters changed to their current design. I contacted the company and they were no help--just told me to line up the groove to the filter, but the entire filter was popping out of place (I'd see it floating minutes after I filled up), so I'd say the new filter design is no longer compatible with older dispensers. After getting a new dispenser, I can see a big difference in the way the filter creates a seal. I think the company should stop saying that the filters are compatible with all filters and dispensers.

  • A: Yes it fits place the filter in a large drinking glass filled with water for about five minutes and you put it in the picture turn it slightly to the right or the left and I guarantee it will fit and work

  • A: Yes. I have an Up & Up 7 cup pitcher that I purchased 3/2020. I just purchased the 4 pack of Brita filters today 5/2020, They fit better than the Up & Up in my opinion and are a lot easier to remove. You just push the filter firmly down into the hole and it's a very snug fit.

These filters do improve the flavor of the water at first but I have three legitimate complaints: 1. With the Los Angeles County tap water, this filter lasts my family of two only three weeks before the filter loses effectiveness. 2. These are now 5 to 6 bucks a piece, that is a high price for a three week filter. 3. The thick plastic filter goes into the landfill. The white plastic is very durable and will likely take hundreds of years to break down under normal conditions. I urge Brita to invent a more environmentally friendly product. This plastic waste is really untenable.

Better design is a must, and I say this as a product designer. The filter is half under filtered water. Unless you remove the filter and do not let the water sit with the filter half submerged, the water will pick up contaminants . The filter needs to be above the water level Terracycle does not seem to be taking new recycling at the moment- what’s up with that?

They don’t fit in my Brita Pitcher. There’s space between the filter and the hole in the pitcher. Therefore, the water just flows thru the hole without being treated. I wish Brita could give me an explanation and refund my money. Can someone please contact me about this issue?

I love our Brita filters (yes, plural), and these replacement filters are a must for keeping things running smoothly. The whole system is great at reducing waste, though I do wish in that spirit they would wrap the filters with something other than plastic. Otherwise, these work as advertised and help us stay hydrated with clean water!
