Discard first three pitchers of filtered water or use to water plants. Replace the water filter every 40 gallons or 2 months. Substances reduced may not be in all users water. Do not use with hot water (85F max). CAUTION STATEMENTS: The Brita Standard Filter is not intended to purify water. Low quality pitcher
I bought two of these pitchers in December. The first cracked within 6 months and had to be thrown out. The other pitcher had a problem with the "smart" indicator after 11 months, and the light now blinks continuously at all times. The battery can't be replaced so I'll have to toss the entire pitcher. What a waste of money. My next filtered water pitcher will NOT be from Brita.

Inconvenient light activation button
I like it except for the location of the button being hidden inside the unit that you need to push to activate the light indicator. That is very user unfriendly and should have been left on the lid as in older versions. I'm very unhappy with this part only.

Love this! Have very hard water. Coffee used to taste really bad, and lime scale buildup on the coffee maker was horrible. Not any more! This works like a charm. I bought this size on the recommendation of other reviews. We are very pleased with the size and weight. We do not use the battery indicator for when to change the filter as it has no bearing on water use-age but works on how often you remove the top to refill the container (whether you do full or partial refills). We will change the filter every two months on the first day of the even months. What is great about it is that we now use the filtered water in our Soda Stream and the taste is fantastic. Before we were very disappointed in the taste of the carbonated water with the Soda Stream machine. This was a game changer.

Very efficient and money saving
It works well for a small fridge if you’re trying to not use up a whole lot of space! It’s easy to maintain as you just fill with water and let the filter do its job and change the filter every so often to keep the water fresh. The taste is way better than the tap and helps save money from buying water bottles!

It’s really convenient and easy to use. It holds a good amount of water, so I don’t have to refill it constantly and the filter makes the water taste so much cleaner and fresher. I also like the design of it, it fits well in the fridge without taking up too much space.

Light Out
Purchased this pitcher about six months ago, and already the light stopped working. I keep it clean and filter changed so not sure what happened but very disappointed.

Will not buy again
I’ve had this pitcher for 6 months and both the inner and outer plastic wall have cracked along the bottom. It leaked all over the fridge. I do not want to purchase a product like this just to have to replace it 6 months later and junk the original. Do better Brita.
