Q: How many months before changing the filter?

submitted by Aglow - 4 years ago
  • A: It really depends upon how much you use it. My assumption from the description is it should be comparable to brita filters. If so, they say on average to replace every 2 months or 40 gallons.

I very much appreciate being able to get two of these filters at only a dollar more than it would cost me to get one of the name brand filters. This store brand lasts a good long while and the water tastes good. My only caveat is that sometimes these filters can swell in the pitcher over time, making it difficult to get them back out again. Just whack it with a spoon and then shake the pitcher upside down, it'll come out.

Doesn't work in the Brita pitcher

I bought these because the package said that it would fit the Brita water pitchers. I just recently tried to use them and they do not fit my pitcher. The water runs right through the pitcher.

These are so much cheaper than the name brand and have consistently fit into my Brita pitcher much better than the actual Brita filters. I’ve been purchasing these for about five years.

Love it! I rather have this than going to the grocery store and getting filtered water from the machine it makes you think how clean the tubes are in throes things but that’s just my opinion: I love these Up&Up brand filter I have no issues using them this is also with the private brand by target pitcher water tastes fresh and clean I like adding a small pinch of baking soda to my water for a really nice taste!

Filter leaves black sediment in water and does not taste as good as other filter. water goes through it a bit too fast, rather have it be slow and actually filter out stuff.
1 reply from up&up Customer Service team - 4 months ago
Thank you for your comment. We're sorry to hear you weren't pleased with your up&up filter experience. The black/dark gray sediment you refer to in the water is activated carbon dust from inside the filter, which is completed food safe (made from coconut shells) and not harmful to ingest. Usually, the carbon stays inside the filter but can sometimes release during bumpy transit. To prevent this in the future, you can flush out the pitcher/filter water a few more times prior to drinking. The up&up filters have a patent-pending design that improves the filtration rate yet still prevents clogging; they are WQA certified to NSF 42 & 53 standards to reduce impurities that make your water taste better: Ion exchange resin captures copper, benzene, cadmium, and zinc. Activated carbon reduces chlorine [taste and odor], limescale and mercury. Please let us know if you have further comments or questions any time by emailing us at: support@water-filtration.net.

Water goes right around the filter into the pitcher. Pointless.

Thank you for your comment. We're sorry to hear you weren't pleased with your up&up filter experience. We would love to understand what's going on in more detail. Perhaps the filter wasn't pushed firmly into the pitcher prior to filling? Also, which pitcher brand are you using? We would greatly appreciate it if you could email us photos or even a video of your filter experience to support@water-filtration.net so we can better understand what's happening.

First, I did not like that the sediment was all over the interior of the package when I opened it. Second, my water tasted like sharpie. Possibly from the sediment everywhere?? Going to see if I can return this.
