A: Thank you for your inquiry. The reason it says 6 months, is because the box will last you 6 months. Each filter lasts for 3 months, and this package comes with 2 filters. Q: I’ve only had my filter for two weeks and the light is already red indicating for me to change it? Why is it doing this? It’s turning red on both of my our units in each bathroom after only 2 weeks of use.

Q: When I opened my replacement filter, there was a substance on it I've seen before that looked like fine salt. Should I use it?

This filter set-up filters water on demand being attached to faucet with an on/off lever. Only drawback is lever MUST be OFF when using hot water, as hot water destroys the filter usefulness. Use cool tap water and heat it in a kettle if you need hot.

I had no problems installing it, and it’s made a huge difference in the water…but we must have the hardest water on Earth because the filter indicator is blinking yellow after 3 days! I wasn’t even using it for drinking, I have very sensitive skin & only needed it to filter the water I use to wash my hands while in the kitchen because I was getting painful rashes. I think I used it a total of 10 times. At this point I’m considering just walking back & forth to wash them in the shower. That filter lasts 4 months with 3 people using it 2x a day. I’m legitimately considering returning because that’s not as advertised.

I usually buy the blue ones but they didn’t have them in stock. I installed this white one and let it purge for 10 min and little black specks from the filter element still came out. Let it run for another 10 min and still black chunks coming out. Used pur products for years and love them but this filter in particular is a bad product. I wouldn’t buy this again. If you can find the blue ones get those.

I've been using PUR's filtration for several yrs. now , Including this improved set of cartridges. The positive results still speaks for it's self. Clear - Clean - Odorless - Water . Having clean water for ice cubes - teal - & cooking is a big noticeable difference. This product dose what it says it was designed to do. I'll be back in TARGET for more !

This seemed different than the filters I’ve purchased in the past. The box was different, and the first filter I opened had the little black piece on the top of the filter missing. Not sure if a change was made to the product, or if there was a mishap with the quality control.
