Cleans Great but Makes Dishwasher Leak
I hate that I am going to have to switch to a different brand. Cascade works better than any other brand I have used. However, my dishwasher started leaking and I had a plumber look at it and he asked me if I happen to use Cascade. I said yes, I do. He said the problem with cascade is that it has too much soap and it foams too much in the dishwasher, causing the dishwasher to leak. He said I should try a different brand and see if that takes care of the situation. I haven’t tried a different brand yet, but I’m going to the next time I buy dishwasher detergent.

Our automatic dishwasher detergents are formulated to not suds/bubble/foam too much if used according to the instructions on the package. If you’ve washed or soaked dishes in the sink with liquid dish detergent, be sure to rinse them thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher as liquid dish detergent should never be used in an automatic dishwasher. Some other causes of too much sudsing/foaming/bubbling in an automatic dishwasher include spilled rinse aid, leaking rinse aid dispense, the door gasket not sealing the door properly, or even the dishwasher not being level. I’m not a huge fan like everyone else is… It cleans well but my dishes wreak of soap afterwards. I feel as if I have to rinse out everything before I use it. Just how safe is it for us??

Do Not Reccommend
These pods clean well. However, I noticed it causes the dishwasher to start leaking. They make too many suds which causes the dishwasher to overflow and spill out.

Foams Like a Dish Soap!
I have been a Cascade fan for over 40 years, until now. This so called “New & Improved” version actually foams inside of my dishwasher and causes it to leak while running. As everyone knows, dish soap does not belong in a dish washer. This product is exactly that, dish soap in a pod. I have switched to Cascades competitor, Finish, without and similar occurrence.

I think that this brand is very trustworthy for being very effective at getting particularly dirty dishes clean. I personally am a girly that will just throw a dish into the dishwasher with nothing more than a quick little rinse- and I throw everything in there- so having dishwasher pods like this that really work are really great! And I love the scent.

Scent
I bought this at a friend's recommendation. It does clean the dishes well, but so does your old liquid. The scent is what concerns me. It remains on everything I take out of the washer. When I cook an egg in my frying pan, the Cascade scent overpowers the food as I stand there stirring. That concerns me. I won't be buying anymore.

Our Cascade products are put through rigorous quality tests to provide you with a squeaky clean dish washing experience, and wouldn't expect for your Cascade to leave it's scent on your dishes. To remove the scent from dishes or the dishwasher, fill both detergent cups with white vinegar. If your dishwasher isn't designed with dispenser cups, put two cups of white vinegar in a non metallic bowl and place it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Then, remove all metal items from the dishwasher. Run one wash cycle without adding any detergent.
