I think that this brand is very trustworthy for being very effective at getting particularly dirty dishes clean. I personally am a girly that will just throw a dish into the dishwasher with nothing more than a quick little rinse- and I throw everything in there- so having dishwasher pods like this that really work are really great! And I love the scent.

I bought this at a friend's recommendation. It does clean the dishes well, but so does your old liquid. The scent is what concerns me. It remains on everything I take out of the washer. When I cook an egg in my frying pan, the Cascade scent overpowers the food as I stand there stirring. That concerns me. I won't be buying anymore.

Our Cascade products are put through rigorous quality tests to provide you with a squeaky clean dish washing experience, and wouldn't expect for your Cascade to leave it's scent on your dishes. To remove the scent from dishes or the dishwasher, fill both detergent cups with white vinegar. If your dishwasher isn't designed with dispenser cups, put two cups of white vinegar in a non metallic bowl and place it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Then, remove all metal items from the dishwasher. Run one wash cycle without adding any detergent. These dishwasher pods are definitely improved from the last Cascade pods I was using. These don't leave your dishes smelling funny and the dishes get sparkling clean. Price could be better but that's the only downside.

It can fight against the detergent to allow minerals and food particles to settle back on dishes, which results in a film. To get the best results, be sure your water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit/49 degrees Celsius. Also, when loading the machine, be sure all items will get the full spray and that your spray arms aren’t blocked. I used to use a natural brand of dishwasher powder which worked fine in my older dishwasher that I'm sure used far more water than the newer ones do. I moved to a new apartment which came with a newer but very cheap diswasher. I tried my natural dishwasher powder and the dishes came out still looking dirty and there was a powder residue all over the dishwasher. I didn't want to go back to handwashing everything so even though Cascade isn't exactly considered "natural", I was desperate and I just wanted clean dishes. After using one of these pods, my dishes came out spotless. I decided to test out how effective they really are and loaded dishes caked with food (scraped off larger food debris first) and they still came out looking clean. I plan to stick with these pods from now on.
