Q: Does this leave a white cast on dark skin when applying 1/4 tsp to face as recommended for sun protection against the Skin Cancer foundation?

A: Even though this is a chemical sunscreen, there is silica in it. Skincare with silica in it can sometimes leave a white cast on dark skin.

I ordered this thinking that because it is made by Cetaphil, I would instantly like it. I have used the Moisturizing Lotion (body) for years. Then I read the negative reviews which addressed my exact concerns such as "burning eyes", causing "breakouts". I liked that it was lightweight and had a matte finish (I was exclusively looking for this benefit). I greatly dislike the sunscreen chemical ingredients. Why not make at least a hybrid of mineral? I'm really surprised on this with Cetaphil. You should know better.

I absolutely love this sunscreen. It’s moisturizing and non irritating. The only problem I have is the the pump! Once you get 3/4 of the way done with the bottle, the pump stops dispensing the lotion. Either I have to waste a bunch of product by throwing it away, or I have to open it and tap out the rest of the product on my hand, but then way too much comes out! This is so frustrating because this sunscreen is perfect for me in every other way. Please fix this, Cetaphil, and I’ll be a customer for life!

This is the best sunscreen I have ever used. But I lose like 1/3 of the product EACH time I buy it because the pump doesn't get all the sunscreen at the bottom. If Cetaphil were to offer a new dispenser for this sunscreen, like a tube, I would use it for the rest of my life. But as someone who is conscious of every last penny in this economy, I can't afford to consciously have to throw product away when I use the pump. I'll probably have to switch sunscreens and sunscreen companies sadly.

After many months of trialing various sunscreens to wear daily under makeup, this one is my runner-up to the winner (Cerave spf 50). Cetaphil SPF 35 has a nice texture, does not pill at all, works perfectly under makeup. Texture is a little more stiff than the Cerave, and all chemical filters (no zinc) so I feel a very subtle tingly sensation on the skin which is pleasant to me. AVOID the eye area as this product will for sure sting eyes, otherwise I love this sunscreen and have already purchased more for when I run out. Will be alternating between this and the Cerave 50, I like to have options. Love that it has all the Cetaphil skin benefits as well, plus some interesting botanicals in the ingredients list.

I’ve been using the sunscreen for a few years now. It’s great if you have sensitive or acne prone skin. I’ve worn this on very hot days and never had an issue with it clogging my pores.

One of my favorite products to use during the summer when I’m just trying to go out with no makeup! This is a light moisturizer and is not super oily like other moisturizers with SPF. The bottle is easy to pump out enough for the what you need, and there is really no scent. The only downfall would be that it is what it is- just a moisturizer. I wish they would make a tinted version so I could use it as a sort of makeup!

This worked well for my 44 year old AA skin and didn’t add any extra greasiness to my face nor did it cause any burns. When it was first applied it was white but quickly disappeared and did what needed to be done. So glad I found d this🩷

This is one of the best nice dresses out there it's oil free just in case you have really scared and it comes with SPF which is sunscreen so if you're in the Sun a lot it'll help with that and pretty much that's why it's the best and you should really get it

Love this stuff. I hate the feeling of having anything too heavy or thick on my face, and this stuff is so effective at both protecting me from the sun and keeping my skin feeling nice and moisturized. At a certain point of emptiness I do have to start tapping the bottle on a counter to get the pump bottle to work properly, but it’s worth dealing with the packaging for.

I have sensitive skin. I have purchased Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for years and have never had a reaction. I purchased this face cream and ended up with redness and an itchy rash wherever I applied the cream. The rash is taking days to go away. This product is definitely not for people with sensitive skin

I've used this for months because I have acne prone skin and a very oily forehead so I love that this one is oil free it's just I wish they made it with higher spf. I thought they did with the other one that was 50 spf but it isn't oil free and I was sad. I don't want to switch sunscreens because I have very sensitive skin and this is the only one that I've found that doesn't irritate me but I would love higher spf for it!!!
