Q: Does this rug hold up well in households with cats? I wanted to check if anyone has noticed pulls in the fabric from pets possibly scratching at the rug, or if it's sturdy enough for this not to be an issue?

submitted bypturner - 4 years agoA: I read the comments before I bought this rug so I went in knowing this rug sheds. Friends, it is NON STOP SHEDDING. My rug is two years old and to give you an idea of the ridiculousness, if you drop say a pair of black leggings on this carpet, it looks like you got in a two hour fight with a long haired cat from the Himalayas. It acutally fills my dyson. I've had it and I'm throwing it out.

Rich, lux, organic look. Yes, the dark heather color was much darker than the photos, but I love it that way. Sheds, but that is to be expected from a natural, woven rug. Hides pet hair well. Photo is after 2 years of use in our bedroom.

Great value for the price. I love the density of the wool. Have had a 2x3 in our entry for over a year, holding up well with simple vacuuming every week or so. Picked up a second longer one for our sauna changing room. Color of the gray rug is off in the pictures - it is a warmer color with more tan and brown tones along with gray.

I use this as a runner in my foyer, it doesn't shed. I'm not sure what others are saying about shedding because I've had it for years and it barely does. I'm unsure how to clean it, it's very saturated with clay dirt. It vacuums ok and doesn't smell.

Love the online picture. But looks absolutely nothing like the picture. It’s completely off white with some thin brown lines going thru it. Not the mix of cream & brown with some black woven through it. They need to up date the online photo if you’re going to change the color that drastically!!!

Ordered two runners, one for each side of my bed. One is two inches short of 7', the other is two inches long if 7'. I can't use them because of the length difference. Additionally, the stitching of one of the runners is loose. I don't think quality control is something the manufacturer cares about.

Love this rug for my floor under my kitchen sink! Color does not show spills. And I loved so much after a couple of years I bought the same one back to replace. Not scratchy and doesn’t have rubber backing to ruin floors but stays in place. Vacuum and shakes out to clean.

Beautiful rug, feels nice & very sturdy HOWEVER, the shedding is intolerable. I kept the 5X7 & the runner for almost a year & the shedding never got any better no matter how much I vacuumed them. You will find fibers of this rug everywhere, worse than pet hair in my opinion. I finally decided to return them. You’d be best to spend your money on a different set.

We needed a true wool rug to protect our new lvt flooring but most “fireplace” rugs are less than 48 in. Our fireplace is huge and hot, we did a test spot with a burning log and the embers just fizzled out. Yes, leaves a mark but it blends in because of the color and texture.

I love the feel of this rug, it is very soft. However, it sheds quite a bit. We don’t have pets but I’ve joked that we might as well because we find the rug fibers all over the house. The fibers also ball up and I find them around like dust bunnies. Vacuuming hasn’t seemed to make a difference. I would not purchase this again because of this. It makes the house feel more dirty.

Nothing to dislike, it’s a beautiful rug. It doesn’t slip slide all over the floor. I do not have a mat underneath it easy vacuum and warm under my feet. looking everywhere for a runner to match. It comes in light gray, but not charcoal. That part is the disappointing part., but I’ll keep looking

I bought this rug because I have Heather Grey runners and doormat rug and I really like those. Online, Charcoal is shown to be very similar to the Heather Grey. I took photos so you can make your own decision. My couch is a light grey, textured velvet and I placed one of the runners on top so you can see the vast difference. I bought the 7x10 because my room is large. I really needed a rug to protect my wood floor. Love the rug concept, but not this black rug. Seems I will have to tolerate it at this time. Company is coming. I still need to position rug better wanted to present what it really looks like. I would 100% absolutely choose the Heather Grey in a 7x10 and I love the way the rug feels under foot and my dogs love it too. The charcoal(?) as another person suggested, it’s black. The store photo looks grey and in reality, it’s very dark.
