submitted by3M Social Engagement - 6 years agoBrand expertA: The clips easily hold a 5.5mm Cat 5e Ethernet cable or a 7.5mm RG-6 coaxial cable. The inside diameter of the clip is about 7.6mm. The clips are flexible enough that the cable can simply be pressed under the clip. In both cases, the cable can slide in the clip, so a cable tie or a piece of tape may be needed to prevent the cable from sliding, as it might if the cable is mounted vertically. Target carries both cable ties and all-weather duct tape. Disclaimer: Measurements were made with calipers. 3M doesn't appear to publish a specification for the maximum diameter cable that the clip can hold.

Complete waste of time and money
Spent Hours putting these up around my outside windows and garage. Did it right, cleaned the surface with alcohol and let it dry, pressed each one on for 30 seconds, let them sit for almost 24 hours before putting up the lights. Immediately popped right off as soon as I tried to gently put the light chord in. Waste of time and money, total crap for hanging anything on outdoor surfaces.

Not gonna last very long
I followed the instructions, wiped with alcohol and allowed it to dry and yet they didn’t hold. I tried hanging lights and garland on separate hooks to distribute the weight and unfortunately they didn’t hold. I tried holding for 30 seconds and letting it sit for an hour before hanging anything and it still lifted. It took the entire box of 36 stickers to hang the garland around my garage and I think i probably lost about 10-15 stickers in the process. I’m now going to buy a staple gun or something more reliable before the rest of them come down. Maybe mine is faulty but the sticker isn’t remotely sticky.

Do not purchase for lighting needs!!!
Horrible, not sticky at all. Tried to use them to hand lights, wouldn’t hold up. The smallest gust of wind and they just fell right down. Do not recommend.

These are awesome if you are hanging like those cool icicles on your front porch. I have had the same hooks up for around 3 years and they are still holding heavy items during the years. I would highly recommend this product.

Ive used many command stick products and I have never had a problem hanging lights like I have this year! The extra strips are great but none of them stick and the extra ones won’t either! Complete waste of money and time!

Listen. I bought these about 6 years ago to hang lights around my garage, window, and trim on my house. They are still there. I thought about taking them down, but didn't because I was lazy. I use them every year for Christmas lights and ignore them the rest of the time - I've had to replace maybe two the whole time. I don't know how they're so great, but they are! I did clean the spots with alcohol first to make sure the strips stuck, and stick they did! I have vinyl siding and would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Adhesive wouldn't stick
I bought these to hang patio lights but the adhesive wouldn’t adhere to the painted overhang. Followed directions for prepping but they slid right off. It’s not that the lights were too heavy-I never even got the chance to put the strands up. I’d recommend them for indoor use though.

So.... I use these for my children's cups. They fit PERFECTLY for cups. I just put a sticker on the flat side so everyone knows which cup is theirs. I got tired of seeing 12+ cups out because nobody ever remembered which cup they were using. These work exactly how I want them to. If one breaks, it's easy peasy to make a new one for a kid.
