A: The clips easily hold a 5.5mm Cat 5e Ethernet cable or a 7.5mm RG-6 coaxial cable. The inside diameter of the clip is about 7.6mm. The clips are flexible enough that the cable can simply be pressed under the clip. In both cases, the cable can slide in the clip, so a cable tie or a piece of tape may be needed to prevent the cable from sliding, as it might if the cable is mounted vertically. Target carries both cable ties and all-weather duct tape. Disclaimer: Measurements were made with calipers. 3M doesn't appear to publish a specification for the maximum diameter cable that the clip can hold.

Q: How long should these stick to the wall before i hang up my lights on them, should these be stuck to a clean surface if used outside ?

These were a life saver ! When we were putting up Xmas lights we couldn’t figure out how to hand them without nails and we could not use gutter clips because we didn’t have any gutters . Then i found these clear clips and they were amazing ! Seamless , you can barely notice them and they were so easy to place . Highly recommend ! They can be used for other decor as well, i even hung the stockings on the wall inside with them .

I bought these clips so that my daughter could hang rope lights on her bedroom wall. The clips worked great for the original intended purpose. Fast forward a month to the holiday season and I again purchased the clips to hang Christmas lights on the inside of my windows in the living room. We cleaned the windows as required and none of the strips lasted longer than 30 seconds. Same strips, 2 different environments and unfortunately they worked well in one area and not another. Back to the hunt for decent window light hooks.

Wish I could give zero stars. Put these on metal flashing under our gutters and followed instructions to a “T”. After waiting an hour as instructed, we went to put Christmas lights up and the hooks all fell down from the weight of the lights. Don’t waste your money and time on these! Horrible product!!

Absolute trash. I followed the instructions and they will not adhere to the outdoor of our home. They kept popping off as I was hanging lights. I went through 2-3 adhesive strips per hook. I'm not confident they will last. The hook itself is sturdy but the adhesive is weak. A glue stick would be stronger than this adhesive.

Bought today to try and hang lights out 2nd floor windows. Didn't even get to try the lights. Cleaned as suggested and tried vinyl siding and window casing. Both lost their stickiness instantly. Normally love command products this was a big disappointment.

This light hooks worked very well. I used them inside and the only problem I had is some spots where I had just put joint compound, sanded but haven’t painted yet kept falling. We wiped with the rubbing alcohol(per the directions) before sticking and followed the directions exactly but since the spots weren’t painted it had a hard time adhering, which was our back, not the product itself. We hot glued the ones that fell from the compound dust and they are working great! Easy to readjust our Christmas lights and you don’t really notice them which is also a plus. All in all great product!

We use these clips all the time. Because they are made for outside they work great but can be a little difficult when removing. I love the fact they truly hold your lights versus just running the lights through a hook.

They must be using a cheaper adhesive now. The ones I put up a year ago are doing well, but I put up 2 new ones this year, following the directions to the letter, and the 2 new ones came down within 48 hours. Ridiculous for price I payed!

These command strips did not stick to any of our outdoor surfaces (and we cleaned the surfaces first). They popped right off when trying to hang lights. Very frustrating to use.

I used these to hang festoon lights on the ceiling of my dorm room. I was very impressed by how well it held. I had to move a couple of them to get the arrangement I wanted and It was fairly easy. Will have to see how they come off at the end of the school term!
