Did the adhesive change??
Did they change the adhesives?? I’ve used these clips for five years and the ones from several years ago worked perfectly. Never had a problem with them staying adhered. The latest batch is noticeably less effective and I follow the instructions exactly. They either fall off when I touch them or as soon as I try to clip in the string lights.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY
This is the biggest scam ever. It ain't THAT HARD to sell a product that actually works - or at least make sure your stock isn't dry. This is a big company, adding clear and useful instructions to your packages won't kill you. Great job 3M! Your marketing sucks, just as any other cheap company.

Horrible item...really don't purchase
These are the biggest waste of time. I tried to use them to hang a 100 light string of mini-Christmas lights. I tried them on both glass and wood trim. Every single one of the hooks failed within 10 hours. Just fell right off. Avoid these like the plague.

I followed all the instructions, have smooth surfaces, used alcohol to clean the surface, waiting over an hour to hang, and they still came unstuck after the first day, kind of a waste of money, adhesive needs to be stronger!

Complete waste of time and money
Spent Hours putting these up around my outside windows and garage. Did it right, cleaned the surface with alcohol and let it dry, pressed each one on for 30 seconds, let them sit for almost 24 hours before putting up the lights. Immediately popped right off as soon as I tried to gently put the light chord in. Waste of time and money, total crap for hanging anything on outdoor surfaces.

Not gonna last very long
I followed the instructions, wiped with alcohol and allowed it to dry and yet they didn’t hold. I tried hanging lights and garland on separate hooks to distribute the weight and unfortunately they didn’t hold. I tried holding for 30 seconds and letting it sit for an hour before hanging anything and it still lifted. It took the entire box of 36 stickers to hang the garland around my garage and I think i probably lost about 10-15 stickers in the process. I’m now going to buy a staple gun or something more reliable before the rest of them come down. Maybe mine is faulty but the sticker isn’t remotely sticky.

Do not purchase for lighting needs!!!
Horrible, not sticky at all. Tried to use them to hand lights, wouldn’t hold up. The smallest gust of wind and they just fell right down. Do not recommend.
