This is great for a person that would just love to craft but doesnt really have the space or much time to do it. If you want to make someone a card just because to make their day, you got 5 minutes and like a square foot of table space perfect... You want to cut some fun window stickers for the kids to have some fun with you, you don't have to clear a bunch of space get all the tools out you don't even need a mat just load it with your favor colors of smart vinyl ... Mother of 7 here I loved to craft but I was always busy and I always said maybe tomorrow... Now this little thing has been so much fun for all of us :-) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was nominated by my friend to get the Circuit Joy. I was thrilled to be one of the selected people! It was super easy to link up and I made my mom a birthday card in no time! In this time of needing to stay home, it was the perfect way to make her a card without having to go out and buy one. It was a lot cheaper and I know it will be extra special for her knowing that I made it :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this little cutie right when it launched and it is AMAZING. While it is a great standalone machine, I also have the Maker and it is such a perfect sidekick! When I’m in a hurry or need a card, labels or a smaller project, the Joy is my go to. I have a young toddler who’s into everything, so I’m able to easily craft on my kitchen table with the Joy instead of having to wait for when my daughter goes to bed because my craft room isn’t baby friendly. I truly couldn’t be happier with this machine!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Having never used Cricut anything before, I was nervous. The hardest part of setup was cutting through the tape on the shipping box. This machine is easy on the eyes, the desk space, and easy to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love this little thing! It’s so convenient! I use mine all the time! Granted, it isn’t made like their machines that are bigger or more expensive but, it’s not supposed to be one of those. The smart vinyl works So good and the portability is awesome. You can even Cricut outside! Highly recommend that. Love their shimmer vinyl, I think it works better than the original kind they have for the bigger machines. Cuts great, iron on, vinyl, removable/permanent, whatever. The little tiny mat is hilarious looking but, it works great. Also works good for all those scraps you have from your bigger machine. Plus I think it’s good for beginners to learn on, probably not so threatening as a bigger machine. My seven year old even helps with me sometimes. I haven’t found one thing I don’t like about it yet and, even if I did their customer service is so awesome, I know they’d make it right. I don’t make cards though so can’t speak to that. My suggestion is make your own mind up before you listen to any negative Nancy out there.
Small but not mighty
I was soooo excited when I saw the joy..I could not wait! It brought me no joy. Lol
It is small and that’s nice. It does cut the joy rolls of vinyl nicely.
Here are my issues.
#1 The blade housing is inferior plastic. It wobbles and vibrates when cutting
#2 It does not cut like other cricuts. It drags and tears on card stock. I used the pack specifically made for joy with the card mat. It does not cut through regular vinyl on the matt.
#3 It only works on Bluetooth. Only. No way to hardwire.
If this is the only cricut machine you own you would never know the difference.
The maker and explorer are far better.
If you want the extra features of the Joy..Go for it. Just know that it is going to give you trouble.
