Slight issues

1. The base heating element dosen't stay on after completion causing coffee to get cold if not consumed right away. 2. When pouring coffee it spills from the sides instead of a narrow stream. Can't pour into a small opening cup. 3. Not all coffee can be poures out from the carafe.

Poor pour!

Quality of coffee maker is good but design of coffee pot is bad! Hard to pour out of, must turn pot totally upside down to empty. A carafe shape would be much better.

10 of 10 for the Cuisinart PerfecTemp Coffeemaker

I have owned a Cuisinart 12 cup Coffeemaker for a number of years, and it made nice coffee. Recently, I upgraded to the Cuisinart 14 cup, Programmable PerfecTemp Thermal Carafe Coffeemaker and I am delighted with the results. It is very easy to use, and brews a wonderful cup of coffee, or, more accurately, a carafe of coffee very quickly.Brewing 6 cups takes 3 to 5 minutes, and brewing 12 cups takes 10 to 15 minutes. The coffee is brewed hot, and stays hot in the carafe for several hours. This is a terrific machine, very easy to use, a very appealing design fitting in well on my kitchen counter top. I am quite confident that I will get many years of delicious coffee from my new Cuisinart Coffeemaker.

Classy Designed Coffee Maker.

Pricy but well-made & compact for a 12-cup coffee maker …fits better on countertop than models with carafe on the side. Love the dark & 4-cup options. Easy to use …filling with water & paper/metal basket option.

Makes quality brew but needs better heating

The Cuisinart 12 Cup Programmable Thermal Coffee Maker produces a solid, non-bitter cup of coffee with improved electronic controls that are more user-friendly than earlier models. While the brewing quality is reliable and the filter cleans easily, the thermal carafe has notable limitations—it doesn't maintain heat effectively over time, requiring you to add hot water if you want truly hot coffee later in the day. The carafe itself is somewhat cumbersome to handle due to an oversized grip, and while the filter basket is simple to clean, the carafe's design makes thorough cleaning more challenging. Overall, it's a decent coffee maker for those who prioritize taste and don't mind the thermal retention issues, but users seeking long-lasting heat retention may want to consider other options.

Brews a delicious pot of coffee! With 12 cups brewed the pot does get heavy. Also the coffee pours slowly unless you remove the lid to the pot.

Good coffee maker; keeps the coffee warm

this is my third Cuisinart coffee maker; first with the thermal carafe and i like the simple design. Easy to use and clean. The only complaint i have is when pouring you almost have to hold the spout upside down to get the coffee out i think because the opening of the carafe is pretty narrow

12 cup coffee pot

We had this particular coffee pot for possibly 10 years. We tried a more expensive brand, but, found we liked the ease of making coffee with the Cuisinart, better. Within the last 2-1/2 years we replaced it twice. First, the unit failed. Second time, the seal between the plastic and stainless steel broke on the pot. Having had set up the warranty, Cuisinart quickly replaced both. Hopefully, we will continue to use this one for years to come.

Love it

Great coffee machine. Makes perfect coffee. Love the delay start time. Assure hot coffee when I awake. And thermos pot keeps coffee hot all day.

Pour poorly the last little bit.

I make 1 Mug a day. The pouring lip spews it everywhere when it gets to the last little bit. The pouring lip needs to be redesigned. Also they need to put marks between 2-4-6-8-... I usually make 3 cups. I put the marks myself on the machine to make it easier. I had a Cuisinart before this one and this seems to be better on quality and durability but lacks in other areas, pouring and marking.

Excellent product with one minor flaw.

The thermal pot is great as it keeps the coffee at the perfect temperature but the pouring opening is way too tight and it's difficult to pour..usually have to remove the top to get a decent pour.

Want to love, mostly hate

I want to love this coffee maker. It makes really hot coffee pretty quickly and quietly. The thermal carafe is amazing and will keep it hot for several hours. Perfect for the 4am person and the 7 am person. However, this is the most frustrating engineering of a coffee carafe I've ever seen. The shape of it forces you to turn it literally upside down to empty it. Like fully or tipped to the other side to empty it. And then it spills coffee or water EveryWhere, EveryTime! Not sure how this got out of R&D. Haven't tried the programming. Also the Blue LED is EXTREMELY bright. Wish there was an off setting.

Taste but no heat

Coffee is tasty, but does not stay warm. Starts to cool as soon as it turns itself off. There's no way to program or regulate degree of warmth.

Great coffeemaker!

I have had a Cuisinart coffeemaker for many years and loved it. Recently I accidently broke the glass carafe so since my coffeemaker was aging, I decide to buy a new one. I bought another Cuisinart but this time with a thermal carafe. It also makes great coffee and keeps it nice and hot. I like the option to brew a smaller amount when it's just for me. The cleaning option is another great feature.

Disappointed in Usability of this Model

I've had two Cuisinart thermal coffeemakers over the last 20+ years. Can't recall why the first one had to be replaced, but its replacement was an identical twin. They were perfect. We decided to get another Cuisinart coffeemaker to give some flexibility. (Older one still works.) We're disappointed in the new one: --Have to be extremely careful when pouring from the carafe--it drips as the pour begins and again afterwards if the pot isn't held very, very carefully. --When I open the top to remove the brewing basket after brewing, water spills down the back of the unit. There's a lip there to try to catch it, but the lip isn't adequate to catch the amount of water that has condensed inside the lid of the coffeemaker. This is a corrective action that doesn't get the job done. --I can no longer brew the coffee on the part of my kitchen counter that has a cabinet above--the steam from brewing is aimed straight up, so it would condense on the upper cabinet if I don't move the coffeemaker to the front of the counter. In a nutshell, this coffeemaker is so inconvenient to use compared to the model that it replaced. It does make good coffee, but it is not convenient to use.

Makes decent coffee, but somewhat disappointing

The DCC-3400 brews a decent pot of coffee, but the thermal carafe doesn’t keep it really hot for long enough. There is no heat emanating from the coffee maker at all, after the coffee ceases brewing. It is solely the carafe that keeps it warm, and it must be filled with hot water to heat it up before using. Also, the carafe is heavy and difficult to pour from. The lid must be removed to dispense the coffee at the bottom of the pot and it must be turned uncomfortably upside down to get it all out. It is also difficult to clean, because my hand will not fit inside it. The coffee maker does look very nice on the counter, and the carafe is attractive, but I preferred my Cuisinart with a glass carafe and a heating element that could be set to stay on for up to four hours. The only reason I didn’t buy another just like it is because the two previous ones I owned started to leak from the bottom. If the DCC-3400 does the same, I will be done with Cuisinart coffee makers.
