    Messy

    I have bought two of these coffee makers within the past year: one for my son (which works perfectly) and one for my home. Mine is a ground-filled, messy nightmare every time I use it. I'm not sure if the grounds basket is too small for a 14 cup unit or what but coffee grounds end up in unexpected places: under the pot, on top of the pot, in my coffee mug, etc. After each use i harvest an astounding amount of coffee grounds from the receptacle that holds the filter & its housing. Also, the stop drip mechanism doesn't work very well so, when I pour coffee mid-cycle, grounds -filled coffee drips into the heated base. I have to keep a paper towel handy to wipe it up before replacing the pot. This coffee maker is too much unnecessary work! Also: Cuisinart, please don't tell me to make sure the parts are lined up and inserted properly. They are.

    Disappointed

    The coffee maker was 4 years old and one year out of warranty when it died. When I called I was offered a 20% discount which i could get anywhere on sale. This was a quality coffee maker, and should have had a much longer life. Very dissatisfied!

    "Old-fashioned" drip maker wins the day!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Several years ago...we defected and went the K-Cup route. Convenient yes. Cost effective...not so much...but convenience won out. Four different versions of a K-Cup machine later...and our most recent purchase was of a version that allowed a single cup brew or an entire pot. A little over one year of use...and it would shut down barely two weeks after a descale process...and that is with using filtered water to begin with. We decided to go back to the "old-fashioned" drip machine...and that's how we came to purchase or Cuisinart...and we haven't regretted it for a moment. LOVE the 3 different heat settings and the ability to program a brew start time. For our use...old-fashioned suits us best and we love our new Cuisinart!

    Very disappointed

    I never leave a review for anything I buy, but I have to do it for this one. I owned a cuisinart coffee maker for 15 years , it was a little slow , so I bought this one first the clock was not working , now it just turn off . I very disappointed . I forgot to get the warranty . I had it only for a few months. Money wasted.

    Short Life Span.

    Works great until it doesn't. We only use filtered water and the clean cycle alert comes on so often and even right after its cleaned. Bought this one year ago and its completely stopped working. Wish appliances lasted longer these days - or were at least less expensive since they seem to be pretty disposable.

The "Bold" button allows me to use less coffee and get th same quality. The only thing I would change is the snap-off lid, I would prefer one that flips up. Overall a great coffeemaker.

    Old Reliable
