Q: Can you make sour dough?
submitted by Disappointed - 12 days ago
A: Yes, you can make sourdough bread in the Cuisinart CBK-110 bread maker! While the CBK-110 doesn't have a dedicated sourdough cycle, you can still make excellent sourdough loaves by using a combination of the dough and bake settings

My husband and I love this bread maker! We can’t get enough of it ever since someone gifted it to us for our wedding! We have made breads as well as homemade jams. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get into making bread!

Great small machine. Get a 2 lb loaf from a 10lb easy to program machine. Nothing like my old 30 lb impossible to program the first time previous one. Love it.
Loving this bread machine!

Bought 1 year ago, makes great gluten free bread. Recipes included. Can also use King Arthur or Bob's Red Mill recipe but note some need to add extra of few ingredients (check their websites). Also used BRM 1:1 yesterday. Excellent results every time. Use camping, as well, only 600 watts is compatible with RV wiring.

I have tried to make four loaves of bread in the automatic break maker. The first two were total flops. Both were French bread recipes. I stopped one when it got to the bake cycle, because it was only about 3 inches tall and hard as a rock. It ended up in the garbage. The other one was higher, but had fallen about 2 inches with a concaved top. I made a loaf of white bread, which turned out beautifully. I tried the French bread recipe again and it was better, but had one side of the top sunken. I am disappointed that I cannot choose the color for the French bread. It was not browned at all on top. The sides were okay and could have been a little darker. I plan to continue to try to get a perfect French bread loaf since that is the bread we prefer for our morning toast. This bread machine replaced a DAK, which I have had for many years. It finally started showing its age and thus I decided to try this Cuisinart Compact Automatic Bread Maker. Wish me good luck with my future efforts.
Great bread machine, gets the job done

It’s really good but even on the lightest setting the crust is pretty dark, I don’t really care about that though, bread comes out great every time

I'm a new user of the bread maker. I tried to make a brioche but it turned out I need more practice LOL. The guide is easy to follow and the machine is easy to clean. I'm ready to try more recipes.

I want to love this, but I can’t get it right! No matter what I do the bread comes out with a big hole in the middle. I googled it. It says usually the ingredient amounts are off. So I make sure the ingredients are exact and it still has a big hole.

Nice compact bread maker. Ideal for small loaves. We typically use for dough making and it is a very good dough mixer. We've had it for a month and feel silly we didn't get a more compact machine after all these years of an oversized machine

When I opened the package I was surprised how small the machine was. I worried it would not make a decent size loaf like advertised. However, it does a wonderful job even though it has such a small footprint. It’s hardly bigger than my toaster but it makes lovely 1-2 lb loaves of bread. The crust is evenly golden and the bread is baked to perfection each time. Super simple to use and I love being able to serve my family healthy fresh bread.

I used my bread maker one time and the second time I tried, I got an error message and had to return it to the store. The store didn’t have another one, so I will find a different brand next time.

Small, much smaller than my previous older one, but can make a two pound loaf!! Easy operation, really no touch unless you’re adding extras at the end. My family was really impressed with the flavor and texture, and especially when I told them it took me nothing more than throwing in the ingredients and pressing start; 5 min. Very easy to clean, very hard to mess up, tons of versatility in recipes. Fits easily in my lower cabinet, not much bigger than a small basic toaster oven. Love having the smell of fresh bread baking.

Cuisinart bread machine gets five stars. The Cuisinart recipe book is three stars. I actually use a different brand’s pass bread machine recipe book which I love. My old recipe bread machine book is simpler and yummier.
