Q: What is the coating of the bread pan?

submitted by 1lilcub - 2 months ago
  • A: The bread pan on the Cuisinart Custom Convection Bread Maker (CBK-210NAS) features a QuanTanium non-stick coating. This food-grade finish is reinforced with titanium and ceramic particles for durability and is specifically formulated to be PTFE-free.

Q: Can I make a heavy dough with no proof cycle, like seitan?

submitted by Eileen E - 3 months ago
  • A: Yes, you can mix heavy doughs in the Cuisinart® Custom Convection Bread Maker (CBK‑210NAS), but with important limitations. The bread maker does not offer a true “knead‑only / no‑proof” cycle—all dough programs include rest/proof periods. For dense, non‑yeasted doughs like seitan, the Dough program can be used only for the initial mixing/kneading, and you should stop the cycle and remove the dough before the proof phase begins. Be aware that extremely stiff doughs place higher strain on the motor; adding liquid gradually and avoiding over‑loading the pan helps protect the machine.

Loaded With Features at a Value Price

The Cuisinart Convection Bread Maker has most of the features of the higher end bread makers but at a more reasonable price point. With this bread maker you get multiple cooking options, fruit and nut dispenser, viewing window just to name a few. Making bread with this machine is very easy: drop in your ingredients, select options and press start. It's that easy! For a bread maker loaded with features, you can't go wrong with its value price.

    Come along way baby!

Am old enough to remember when bread machines first came out. Unfortunately it was nothing but frustrating and with unpredictable outcomes. My machine was banished to storage after several months of disappointment. After many years I decided to try again with rising bread prices and poor choices available. I am loving this machine . It’s simple to use and clean up. Love it can make a 2 # loaf and regulate crust color. Noise level is acceptable and have tried scratch and boxed bread machine recipes all with good results.

    Very Big Disappointment!

Unfortunately, this bread maker hasn’t met my expectations. My second white loaf turned out dry and crumbly, and the crust was far lighter than the medium setting I chose. At this point, I can’t recommend this model.

Like Grandma's was without all the kneading

So easy to use, so easy to eat the finished product. The bread takes me back to Grandmas' kitchen but without all that work. No more store bought chemically enhanced whatever that was.

Great bread maker! Make sure to take the paddle out every time before the bread starts baking, it’s very difficult to remove once it’s baked

    Pretty good, but not perfect.

I don’t love the touch screen. It sometimes makes it difficult to pause and resume when getting paddle out. It won’t register what you are pressing and it will restart.

I tried several bread makers. This was the best. I love it and it always makes good bread. Very easy to use and very forgiving if you make a mistake. I love all their bread recipes.

    Worth the additional money

I recently stepped up to this model after having extensively, used the less expensive Cuisinart compact bread maker. While this model is almost exactly the same footprint as the compact machine, it is clearly superior in a number of ways. First, the pan is wide wider and not quite as tall, second the convection seems to produce a much more even and delicate crust, and the machine is significantly quieter than the compact model. I’m happy I made the step up.

    Great Bread!

I've made bread by hand before but the process is very time consuming and labor intensive, so I decided to invest in a machine. I'm impressed with this bread maker and the quality of the bread it produces. I made my first loaf of the basic white bread from the recipe in the owner's manual and it came out fantastic! The browning of the crust was very even. Crumb quality very good. I used Gold Medal All Purpose flour, which has never let me down. Bread was also very tasty. I suggest checking the ingredients as they first begin to mix together; using a rubber spatula to pull in ingredients that get caught in the corners helps. I also suggest when the dispenser opens up, to close it so it doesn't interfere with rising. Build quality seems very good as the unit is mostly stainless steel. Great price too, considering that some competing models are far more expensive. Make sure to read the manual; it has some important tips. All in all, nice job Cuisinart!

    Like the brand.

Made different loaves of bread trying to find the right wholewheat loaf so far all are very dense. Cranberry Walnut almost cake like best so far. Everyday white bread no problem making. The bread machine its self is great.

    So far so good

This is my first bread machine ever. Of course, I messed up the first bread, but after that, its been a very pleasant experience. Process is easy, just dump in all the ingredients and wait. So far, love it!

    Consistent and reliable

I like the size and the controls. I have baked bread in the machine ne just to assure it works and it did a nice loaf. I personally prefer to bake in my own oven making rolls and loaves. The one thing I am not happy with is the alarm telling you when to add something-I can be listening for it and still not hear it (and I am not hard of hearing) so I have to set a phone reminder of when to return to the kitchen. My other old model Cuisinart was loudly audible so I could hear it over voices and television. All things considered, it’s a great little machine and I recommend it.

    Dough not recommend

Have attempted about a dozen loafs. A few different kinds and some doughs that we backed outside the machine. Nothing it produces is very great. I am able to make better dough using my stand mixer and just baking in the oven.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us—we’re sorry to hear the bread maker hasn’t delivered the results you were hoping for. Many consumers find improved outcomes by verifying the correct dough program, measuring ingredients precisely, and ensuring yeast and liquids are added in the recommended order to support proper rise and texture. We appreciate your feedback and the chance to help improve your baking experience.

    Awesome

This bread maker is so easy to use and makes a delicious loaf of bread in a matter of hours. Once you have placed the ingredients in the tin you just press the appropriate buttons and it does the rest and best of all you end up with a wonderful loaf of bread. It is definitely worth the cost and Cuisinart’s warranty is one of the best. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bread maker.

    Love making my own bread!

I'm very pleased with this purchase! It is easy to use. The directions are straight forward. You do have to be able to identify what kind of bread you are making, because it requires a "menu" code. It is a bit noisy, but you get used to it.

    Very nice product!

This has been going really well for us. This is the first bread machine I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to. The first loaf we did sort of bombed but we had no idea what we were doing. Then learning that ALL the ingred needed to be room temp made all the difference. Not much difference between the light, medium and dark though. I do highly recommend.
