Q: Can you use the bowl a 2nd time? Or do you need to refreeze before a 2nd use?

submitted by sammy21 - 25 days ago
  • A: The Cuisinart Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Ice Cream Maker (Model ICE-30BCP1) requires its freezer bowl to be completely frozen before each use. After making one batch of ice cream, the bowl warms up and must be refrozen before it can be used again. Attempting to make a second batch without refreezing will result in suboptimal freezing and texture.

Q: Do you have to pre-freeze the bowl

submitted by Nisisi - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Nisisi - yes, you need to freeze the bowl prior to use. It's recommended you freeze the bowl for 12 to 24 hours prior to use. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen

Q: Does this require ice and salt?

submitted by Debora - 7 years ago
  • A: No. It has a freezer bowl that you need to keep in the freezer for at least 8 hours before making the ice cream. Longer than 8 hours is even better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t had this long so I cannot review long-term use…but so far it has been great! Easy to follow set-up and use directions, works as advertised with good end product. It does make a good amount of noise but not so loud as to keep me from using it! Very happy with this purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always loved Cuisinart products, so when I decided to buy a new Ice Cream maker, I turned to Cuisinart to see my options. I chose the 2 quart capacity model because I liked the larger size. I read the reviews and made my purchase. I was not disappointed. My very first batch came out perfectly! It is very easy to mix your ingredients, then just turn the machine on and pour into the rotating bowl from above. The plastic shield prevents accidental spills. The machine is quieter than I expected and the advertised time required (about 20-25 minutes) was spot on. The bowl is very sturdy and all parts clean easily. Definitely one in the win column for Cuisinart!

    Crazy Loud and Distruptive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Crazy loud motor makes for an annoying and disruptive ice cream making experience. I like being able to conveniently add the ingredients from the top. It freezes the custard well and keeps the soft frozen consistency while transferring to another container to allow the freezer to complete the process. The loud operating motor is so distracting that I had to return the product. Kitchen Aid has a similar process where you have to freeze the bowl then use with their mixer. It's inconvenient to add ingredients to while it's operating but is so much more quiet and has a much stronger motor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't eat chocolate, so my local stores are full of ice cream flavors that I can't enjoy. I'm using my new Cuisinart ice cream make to make chocolate-free flavors, like Key Lime ice cream and Lemon Oreo ice cream, that I've never seen in the stores. They are delicious and easy and a nice change from the limited options in the stores.
