A: Hello, this is the customer response team at Georgia-Pacific. These plates are not compostable but, Dixie plates may be recycled when clean and dry. So, when deciding whether to recycle or toss, remember—if you ate a dry, mess-free meal like a quick sandwich and chips, just dust off those crumbs and dispose of the plate in the recycling bin. If you ate a messy, saucy meal that left grease stains on the plate, then dispose of it in the trash. Be sure to check acceptance with your local recycling program. Thank you.

Best paper plates for any occasion!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’re a Dixie only family. Why? Because these plates do what they say they will. My kids cut their steak on it without cutting through these plates, sauces don’t leak through, and you can microwave them. As a busy mom of 4, we tend to use a lot of paper plates… especially when life is busy or mentally exhausting. I know I won’t have dishes AND I won’t have messes. It holds up well for adults and toddlers. They’re also pretty sturdy, you can hold it with one hand and it won’t send your food flying.

Fragrance on plates
I buy Dixie Plates and bowls all the time. Recently I kept thinking that the dishes weren't being rinsed properly as I kept tasting and smelling what appeared to soap while eating so I kept throwing the food away all week Today while eating a slice of pizza I still was getting the soap taste and smell. Turns out its the paper plates!!!
