Caution... color bleeds

I purchased the red cowboy. Upon opening it, it does have a smell, that to me, is not pleasant. My son likes to walk around with it in his hand and he put it on my white couch in a few places while playing with it. It left red spots all over. The spots seem to come out with dawn powerwash, but who wants to constantly have to wash down any material the dough comes into contact with?

Cute- will get stuck in carpet, will stain, filled with chemicals, and lots of warnings. Not really like playdough. Uncomfortable letting my kids play with it, but so far its held up fine just staying in character form. I do like that it has a lid for the bottom to contain the dough so they can play with the figure once its made though!
