Q: Juat got this, and the boom doesn't stay up on it's own except for at the lower end of the angles, and kind of when it is straight up. Is this normal or should it be pretty rigid under it's own weight?
A: The last stage of the boom is on an air lock system, turn that selector switch at the base of the boom and run it all the way out, it will lock in place. Crank the winch line back up into the tip, it will move that little plastic plate and unlock the air, then retracting the boom as you reel in the line.
submitted byMatt - 5 years agoA: The one we got does the same thing. We assumed it was defective and plan on exchanging it, but Target is out of them. So either it's a poor design or these are defective. Sorry to not actually answer your question - but at least we know we aren't the only ones!

submitted byhardtjoshua - 5 years agoA: Got for our grandson. opened it, box in trash. Same problem - the boom will not stay up. The crank just clicks. Opened the boom crank area and found the yellow plastic gear broken. merry christma

Q: On the crane the strings does not rewind anymore how can I fix this?
A: Hi Yvette. Please use the following directions when working with your truck. If not used like this, your truck may become damaged: -put the switch in the forward position -extend the crane arm completely/the hook can be lowered now -put the switch in the backward position -the crane arm and hook can be retracted -gently move the cord drum while turning the crank to avoid the loud 'click' sound Thank you. Q: how much weight can it hold at when fully extended before flipping over
A: Hi Nicholas. The angle of the crane arm will affect the weight it can carry before flipping over. When the crane arm is horizontal, it can carry less weight and when the crane is completely raised it can carry more weight. When the crane arm is completely raised and extended, the maximum supported weight is 2.597 lbs (1.178 kg). The Battat Team
