The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean. It's engineered with the larger size, power, intelligence, and additional run time to deep clean larger spaces. It has a 25% wider cleaner head and 150% larger bin compared to the Dyson Gen5detect, as well as twice the run time. The Dyson Gen5outsize covers more floor with each pass and allows for more cleaning between bin emptying and charges. It intelligently optimizes suction power based on floor type and debris picked up.⁵ The LCD screen indicates when to keep cleaning an area and when to move on. The Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head reveals invisible dust on hard floors. The extra wide de-tangling Digital Motorbar™ XL cleaner head deep cleans carpets and hard floors without tangles. Q: Is the HEPA filter really washable? to identify its the stand-up pleated cylindrical one that looks like paper. The similar filter on the Miele cordless isn't washable, so worth asking.

Has some good features like the light to highlight hair and dust, and being able to empty the waste bin and clean filter. Not sold on the hard floors attachment as cords and thin mats get caught in the rotating head. Also wasn’t a fan of the corkscrew attachment, wasn’t lifting dirt as much as I expected. Have owned a Dyson before and was much better than this one. Ok, but wouldn’t buy again.

bought a fortnight ago and just have to say how good it really is, ive bought extra attatchments from a different source and they have opened up extra uses for the hoover like making it easier to get in nooiks and cranies but the actual hoover overall has been eye opening, the 3 power modes are unnecessary, on eco it is still capably of grabbing the carpet and has made everything easier, the time it tyakes to hoover whole house has changed from 30 mins with the old Dyson dc 40 to around 10 mins including stairs. the car has never ever been so clean, so overall a fantastic machine, expensive yes, but you get what you pay for.

Lets start with Thank you Dyson! Very impressed with your Gen5Detect vacuum. The battery last me the whole house and is picking up a lot more dust than my old V8. Also, no need to keep in on max power, using the detect brush, I can clearly see that everything is being picked up on hardwood and ceramics. The carpet brush which can be adjusted for suction is also working amazing. Love it!

This vacuum is by far the best cordless vacuum on the market period!!! I’ve been a Dyson guy for years and going from the V6 to a V11 to now the Gen5 I can’t believe how far technology has come!! I would use the V12 and do the main floor of my house and fill the dust bin once. Now I get 2 and a half bins full from the gen5 on the exact same area!! This things sucks up absolutely everything!! Best purchase of this year no doubt at all. If you want your floors as clean as possible this is the vacuum for you!!

I bought this dyson vacuum during the boxing day sales, so 6 months ago. It is an excellent vacuum. Plenty of suction power to do all areas of the house. Perfect to give the car seats a quick clean, or the baby seat. The battery is long lasting unless you put it on super suction highest setting (which isn't needed anyway) the auto setting is what i use around the house and its more than enough. My only complaint is the vacuum feels heavy to hold and move around after a while. I have a 3 bedroom house and sometimes I get a sore hand from holding it by the end of the vacuuming. Other then that, its perfect and I have no issues. Oh, also very easy to clean and empty the dust bin & I also like the built in attachment for crevices that slides into the long extension piece. No more having to stop and find the crevice tool mid way through.

We have had this for a few weeks now and we are very pleased with its performance, the accessories, the magic of the smaller machine inside the larger tube, all ready to vacuum the edges etc without changing ends. It is useful being able to keep an eye on the power remaining before a charge is necessary and the noise level seriously reduces on the eco setting.
