Power and long lasting battery time per use.
I love Dyson Gen5detect absolute. It’s powerful and has a long lasting battery. I get up to an hour of usage. That’s twice the time of my precious stick vacuum.

Great strong vacuum!!!
Great vacuum, strong suctioning power, excellent battery life, but a little heavier than previous models. This vacuum picks up everything. I love it!!!

Not your Mama's upright
I'm going from a 29 year old upright vacuum to the Dyson so yes I'm loving it. It's actually fun to vacuum. My daughter has an early model with a trigger. I like the button on this model...better with my arthritis. The dog doesn't attack it because it's so quiet. I might even get the grooming attachment! I was a little worried about not having a bag, but it's so easy and satisfying to empty it that I find I don't miss the bag at all. The way it lights up the dust with that one attachment is so cool. It's like playing a video game and sucking up all the tiny green monsters. The battery has way more endurance than I have. Playing on the floor with my grandson is such a better experience now. Thank you Dyson.

Updated model.
My month old Dyson has great suction. Is slightly more bulky and heavier than my previous Animal V8 model. However, when I hang it up to charge, the long tube connection often falls out of the body, especially when the head is attached.

Dyson Gen5detect Absolute vacuuum
I love my Dyson Gen5. It has fabulous suction and optons for changing from eco to boast. So useful. It's not noisy and very easy to use, being just the right weight and length to make it easier to use longer. No concerns at all about the fantastic filtration and battery life. I have been a dyson user for 30 years and the stix models are just fabulous for someone who never likes to do the whole house at once but can if needed!

Great suction and easy to empty and clean.
The best vacuum cleaner I have owned. The boost setting is amazing for us as we have a golden retriever. It’s amazing how much gets sucked up on a daily basis.

I purchased 2 weeks ago and so far am very impressed…I do notice that it is heavier than my previous Dyson stick…I do like the lighted roller and can’t believe how much dust is on my floor

This was an upgrade for us.
This was an upgrade from our V10. I like the nozzle inside the pipe idea, it saves hunting for the narrow nozzle that always seemed to be left in a room somewhere. I do find it a little heavier than the old one, but the cleaning and suction are great. I prefer no trigger on and off as that kept breaking on my last 2 V10s , so the upgrade for that is good. I'm not sure I need to know hown my particles I have vacuumed up... but the light on the head showing in green light the dirt and debris / dog hair is great. That works well so I can see on my pale tiled floor, exactly where I have vacuumed. I'm not sure tha battery life is any longer than previously, but I like the low battery warning countdown. It does seem a little quieter than our old one.

Convenient and Efficient
I am happy with my Dyson Gen5detect, bought a few weeks ago. I like the convenience of it, being able to empty after each vacuum without bags involved. I also really like the lighting that shows up dirt and dust as you go.

Super Clean
Super clean carpets! This machine picks up twice as much cat and dog hair and dust than the V10 did. The HEPA filter is magic for air quality. It is quieter than the old machine, too.

I bought the Gen5detect complete a few weeks ago, and im very happy with the suction and ease of use, I love it really! I am wondering about the battery, when promotional material shows a run time of 70 odd hours, ive never seen this figure appear on my screen, more like 35hr, on economy mode even, so I'm uncertain about the claims... battery drops dramatically in Auto mode. Also, it gets a bit annoying to have to turn the machine off and on when the motor head stops working (gets caught in rug tassles or you take the small brush out to do a small job and reattach the stick), would be great if the head automatically restarted again.

Amazing!!
We bought this a few weeks ago and it is absolutely amazing! We had an old Dyson barrel vac for nearly 20 years and this is our first stick vacuum. I have always held off buying one thinking the suction wouldn’t be very good but this machine has great suction. The green light has exposed how dirty our floors were. We have a golden retriever and couldn’t see the hair but the green light highlighted a layer of hair on top of our tiles, which horrified me. We now use this vacuum daily and it is absolutely the best!!

Great Features and Easy to Use
After using a plug-in Dyson for over 15 years, I find the Gen5Detect much more convenient for quick cleaning. It's easy to handle, has strong suction, good filtration, good battery life and includes useful accessories.
