Best vacuum ever
I've used my new gen5detect a few times now with the different heads and it's fantastic! Made me realise how poor my old vacuum was, as the dustbin is filling up every time I do my carpet in only a few minutes. It's got superior suction, great filters so it doesn't have the dusty vacuum smell, and a good number of attachments for different needs. The battery life is good, but I'll definitely be getting a second one as a back-up for long cleaning sessions, and a few extra attachments for hard to reach places. Then it will be the perfect set-up!

There’s more to this Dyson than you can see.
I’ve had a V12 for some years now and finally had to retire it.We have stuck to Dyson as they do a great job and other than the usual problems like that dastardly trigger we have been happy.Now for our new Gen5 so far I love it a couple of features to take note of are the hard floor head light which shows every bit of dirt,lint and dust on our tiles it’s superb,and then the alien head that hides itself away inside the main wand it’s a wonderful addition simply push a button release the wand and you can do the edges and skirts with that little monster. So so far loving my new Dyson Gen5

Best Performance
By far the best performing vacuum I have ever used. My home is 90% flat industrial style carpet and 10% vinyl plank. Excellent on both surfaces. I also use it for dusting furniture. I purchased a hose attachment and horsehair brush. Gen5 Absolute.

Super sucker
I am so impressed with the suction of this vacuum. I have hardwood floors and washable rugs. The rugs have been very hard to vacuum with my other brand upright and canister vacuums. I have two very hairy dogs and the pet hair was so difficult to get up. This Dyson is awesome for getting up the pet hair. Wish I had bought it sooner!

Get those dust mites!
I bought Gen 5 a month ago for nearly half price. Extremely happy with it! Love seeing on the screen how many dust mites I have sucked up and how much time is left on the battery. I am vacuuming more often and love the extra features like light. Only downside is its a little heavy but no problem, I just swap hands or pace myself. Highly recommended

Awesome vacuum, not too heavy either.
Love this vacuum, it cleaned out floors really well and battery lasted longer than i expected. Love that you can swap out the battery too as we have a large house so purchased a second battery.

My house cleaner went back to my old, corded Dyson. Said it cleans a lot faster. The new head is narrower.

Awesome Vacuum
Best Dyson Vacuum I have purchased.. I have had many different models over the years. The Gen5detect Absolute is very effective at cleaning hard floors and carpet. The bin needs to be emptied twice as much as other models which means it's sucking up much more dust and debris. The LCD on particles is awesome. The HEPA filter works well. My only complaint is the vacuum is quite heavy but that's a worthy comprise for more suction power. I've only used it for a few weeks. Time will tell if it lasts.

Gen5Detect - Great machine
Having owned several Dyson Stick vacs over the years I'm pleased my decision to buy another was for the right one. It's quieter than the previous one - doesn't frighten the cat; has a longer battery span and great suction over both timber and carpeted floors. Whilst it is actually heavier than my past ones it certainly does not feel heavier during use as it is so well balanced. The recorded information about particles picked up during a clean is impressive.

Great for Hard Floors - Check for Carpet Type
We have been Dyson supporters for many years and it was time to update from our old V8 model. This is an excellent product for hard or tiled floors clearly indicating where the dust is and removing it. However, it is a 'poor' product for thick high pile carpet ... the suction is so strong that even on the high setting it is really hard work to vacuum that type of carpet. For low cut carpet it is easier to use and very effective. We will continue to use our old Dyson Ball for the thick high pile carpet. The single on/off button is a blessing and the noise level is fine.

Good vacuum
Have used 4 times now. We have a 2200 sq ft home. Main living space is LVP and 4 bedrooms are carpeted. Can’t do whole house with one battery charge so do carpets one day, LVP another. Only loses a star because of this issue.

Overall experience
Overall a good experience and use of latest technology and advancement in a vacuum. Hair tangles doesn’t work on the carpet but the fabric works on any floor type and specifically the laser light confirms how much your floor has been cleaned with dust and other particles are visible.
