The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean. Q: Is the HEPA filter really washable? to identify its the stand-up pleated cylindrical one that looks like paper. The similar filter on the Miele cordless isn't washable, so worth asking.

I have used the cordless vacuum cleaner for a month now. Pros - Battery can easily be changed - One does not have to keep pressing the trigger while vacuuming. A simple push of the button is all that is required - I like the floor brush that illuminates the dust very nicely - Automatic change from eco to medium to max power but can also be changed manually if need be - The display of size of the dust particles can be interesting to some techno geek but I am indifferent to it - Compatible with a specific floor stand so one does not have to drill holes. In the wall. Cons - The carpet brush does not illuminate the dust particles - Heavier than previous V8 model i owned but this does note bother me - Suction power is not any better than my older V8 model

This is my third Dyson and each one gets better! Happy that this has the easily detachable battery, the attachment within the main hose is a little odd, I prefer the old school one which has a narrower neck and its a little tricky to access. Enjoy the filtration stats, crikey that can be scary. I also like that you no longer have to hold down the trigger, but confess I still lift my finger off expecting it to stop. Enjoy the hard floor attachment. Battery life seems to be much enhanced. The charging cradle is a little bit awkward how it sticks out from the wall, but just taking some getting used to. All in all super happy with my new Dyson Gen 5 Detect.

I was gifted this as a birthday present and I must say one of the best vacuums I have ever had. It stops when I’m using it on the rug but I have leart that I just have to put it in eco mode to finish the job.

Have been using Dyson stick vac's for years as the only vac I could find that worked on thick rhino carpet, having said that, can only use on eco mode as auto too strong makes pushing it near on impossible. Battery life not the greatest, would be good if machine come with extra battery, filter & all the attachements rather than having to buy these separately. Big improvement having on/off button & not having to keep finger on trigger throughout clean.

Love the new Dyson, it is the next generation up from our old Dyson. The additional battery endurance is most welcome, and the standalone storage tower is very useful. Having all the attachments visible stops you from forgetting what you have and what is best to use for a particular cleaning need. Suction is brilliant and I like how it automatically adjust depending on need. Nope, happy with the upgrade, inmyview well worth the money.

Love it! I can’t believe how much dust seems to be constantly on the floor - that green light on the soft roller shows up all kinds of nasties! I love everything about this vacuum. It is easy to just grab and use which means I am vacuuming way more than I used to with my old clunker of a vacuum. I am waiting for some extra attachments to come back in stock on your site so that I can get everything I need for the cleanest house ever. The suction and filtration are amazing. I can also safely vacuum whilst my husband watches tv as the noise doesn’t bother him. It is so quiet compared to my old clunker and I always waited until he wasn’t in the house before I could vacuum. Not now!

I would actually rate my Dyson Gen5detect Absolute 4.5 stars, but I can't. Bad bits first. It is really quite heavy: I have to keep changing arms and get quite tired. It doesn't clean very close to the edges. I can't find anything that tells me when to use the + or - on the red slider on the Digital Motorbar head. And I can't find a way to vacuum mats: they get sucked off the floor. Everything else is pretty fantastic. Not too noisy. Good suction. The Fluffy Optic head is my favourite. The green light is amazing. It shows up all the dust and debris on the floor that I didn't know was there. Warning: if you start using this head be prepared to keep vacuuming. Once I can see that dust I don't want to leave it! The battery life is phenomenal. On a hard floor it lasts for over 40 minutes. I generally run out of energy before it does. It is also easy to empty. I haven't had to wash the filters yet so can't comment on that. Really glad I bought this vacuum.

Absolutely the best dyson stick vac so far. Gets so much more ingrained dirt out than my v 10 ever did. My carpets have never looked better. The first few weeks have been a bit scary with how much it has gotten out of the carpet. We have a long haired black cat. Makes short work of his fur. Love tge on board built in crevice tool. Also a fan of on off switch. Trigger was an issue on v10 with my arthritic hands.

I Love the two batteries. I've owed two Dysons before and that was my only complaint. This new Dyson is much heavier and Im about worn out vacuuming my carpets. I've raised up the head and had to put it on EGo so it's a little easier. I just wish it was easier to vacuum carpets and it was lighter.
