Q: What dept would I find this??

submitted by Dave - 7 years ago
  • A: I ordered mine online for store pickup and they pulled it for me and had it at the customer service counter when I went to get it. Saved me from having to find it myself.

Q: Will this work to secure rubber toe back to tip of sneaker where it lifted?

submitted by Jrobbi - 4 months ago
  • A: Shoe Goo is a great choice for mending the toe of a shoe--it was developed nearly 50 years ago to do just this! Clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying. For best results treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Q: Is it toxic and hazardous for your health?

submitted by AmyBedazzled - 4 months ago
  • A: Shoe Goo is a solvent based adhesive that cures via the solvent evaporating. The solvent requires a warning for use, but as the product cures this solvent dissipates and the dried product is essentially rubber. We would expect no negative dermatological reaction unless an individual with extreme skin sensitization comes into direct contact with the active/”wet” adhesive. When our products are used as intended, there should not be health issues. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and Target!

Q: Would this work on a shoe where a mesh upper has been disconnecting from the lower rubber part?

submitted by ConcernedCitizen - 5 months ago
  • A: Shoe Goo does a great job bonding a variety of shoe materials. As long as there is enough mesh material and surface area in contact, the Shoe Goo should do the job. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and Target!

Q: One of my slippers is split open on the back and I can see a black shoe insole is sticking out. Can I repair my slippers using this product?

submitted by XT515 - 6 months ago
  • A: Shoe Goo is a great choice for repairing slippers. It is a flexible and very strong adhesive that will move the she slipper while in use. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and Target!

Q: Will it work on horseback riding boots that soles are comming off?

submitted by Savannah - 2 years ago
  • A: Shoe Goo is a great choice for adhering the soles onto shoes or boots. For best results, treat the product as a contact adhesive, by applying the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Be sure to clean the surfaces with alcohol or acetone prior to applying. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and Target!

Q: Hi, will this work on glueing two pieces of leather watchband back together? Will the glue stay flexible and not harden? Also will it glue a rubber side sole to leather on a pair of sneakers?

submitted by Slamballa - 2 years ago
  • A: Shoe Goo is a great adhesive for adhering two leather straps back together, while remaining flexible. There are often two sides of leather--the treated (smooth) side and the untreated (rough) side. The untreated sides will bond much stronger than the treated leather side. Shoe Goo will also bond leather and rubber shoes. Treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Be sure to clean the surfaces with alcohol or acetone prior to applying. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products & Target!

Q: I have rubber gucci slides , the rubber part got cut will . Will this glue fix this

submitted by Erick B - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Erick! Shoe Goo is a great adhesive for repairing many different shoes and works very well on rubber (although some very glossy and smooth plastics (polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene) may have adhesion issues). The Gucci Slides appear to be very shiny and smooth material so it may be best to try a small area to ensure quality adhesion before employing on the entire project. Be sure to first wipe the surface clean with alcohol, prior to applying, to remove any oils or adhesion barriers. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products & Target!

Q: I have a sole of a hiking shoe that is partially coming loose. Will Shoe Goo be the solution for regluing the bottom part of the shoe to the shoe?

submitted by Larry - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Larry! Shoe Goo would be great for this! We suggest you clean the area of all debris, dirt, and dust and then wipe it down with some alcohol. Apply Shoe GOO directly to each surface to be bonded or repaired. Allow the adhesive to partially cure, approximately 2 minutes before mating surfaces. We advise to lightly clamp, tape, or add weight to hold the two parts together until fully cured. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products & Target!

Q: What is the shelf life after opening

submitted by Mike - 4 years ago
  • A: HI Mike - Shoe Goo has a shelf life of 2 years UNOPENED. Once opened, the shelf life will be dependent on how well you store the product. Ideal temperature for storage is 50 to 80 degrees fahrenheit. It is crucial to clean any adhesive from the threads, then restore the cap snuggly to avoid any air flow that will cause the solvent to evaporate , allowing the glue to dry out. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products & Target!

This glue is amazing, I first bought it to fix my daughter's dance shoe, she said she didn't want to break in a new pair, it was still holding up after five years when she finished dancing, we also discovered that, since it is waterproof and flexible it repairs small holes in our water bed mattress when my cat decides to knead the blanket

Did the trick! I have some old cross country ski boots, and the sole on one came completely off. I thought about trying super glue, but someone suggested this. I put on a generous amount and clamped it for 24 hours. I’ve now skied with these three times since. Not sure about the negative reviews… but this was cheap compared to having to buy new boots. 10/10 recommend!

The glue did not hold the sole back onto the shoe; it came off as soon as I started walking.

Literally the worst. It's like rubber cement and it doesn't stick to the sole. The glue literally peels off after application

This is the only stuff that I have found that actually repairs shoes. The key to this product that makes it different is the fact that it is flexible which allows for the energy that is produced from walking causing materials to stretch to be absorbed. To address some of the negative reviews, I think it is worth remembering that some shoes are simply Beyond the ability to be repaired. If the material is cracking or something along those lines, nothing will work. This works well for anything that needs to be repaired that involves the potential for stretching as well as for items that typically would not be able to be glued like foam. Has always worked for me and is a constant repurchase!

I've used this adhesive to repair the soles of my shoes that often detach themselves from the shoe. I spread the glue either with a thin screwdriver or a thin strip of thick paper then I use masking tape to hold it in place. I've learned that it's best for the glued shoes to be left either outside or in the garage to dry because the smell is much too powerful while the glue is drying. Other items that I've repaired with Shoe Goo are waste baskets and laundry baskets.
