Q: It says it removes natural polishes. Does that mean it can't remove polish by brands like Essie and OPI?

submitted by Renee - 4 years ago
  • A: Hello yes it can. It won't remove gel polish, dip or nail polish on acrylic nails.

  • A: It does remove Essie and opi but it takes more time. It does not work with gel or glitter.

Q: Would this be a good product for removing a clear OPI Matte top coat from acrylic nails?

submitted by Miquiztli - 5 months ago
  • A: Hello, thank you for your message. Our nail polish removers only work on natural nails, doesn’t work on acrylics or gel. Hope this helps.

Q: What ingredient in this product melted my plastic handle and cosmetic bag? Look at the reviews from worst to best to see how many have experienced this - along with a leaky cap. If it can dissolve those solid surfaces how can it be safe for nails?

submitted by dschleis - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello, we are so sorry to hear this. While all of the ingredients used in our remover are carefully screened for health, safety, and toxicity, the soy derivative used in the remover is naturally aggressive toward plastics, many rubber compounds, and other similar surfaces. Also, since it has near zero VOC content, which is fantastic for the ozone, that also means it will not evaporate like acetone and other alcohols, so if it is spilled on a plastic bag or handle, it will keep working to the point of possibly damaging those surfaces. But our remover remains one of the healthiest polish removers available anywhere.

It does require a bit more work than regular acetone, but it does have a nice scent & it doesn’t dry out your nails/fingers which is a definite plus! I found the best way was to hold the cotton ball and move my finger side to side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that this nail polish remover is gentle on my nails and the lavender essential oil left my nails moisturized! I recommend watching the video as it really helps to wipe the nails with the remover and wait 20-30 seconds prior to trying to remove the polish. A really awesome product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is so much better than regular nail polish remover. It takes a bit more effort but is so worth it as it has a pleasant aroma and actually seems to nourish my nails instead of being harsh and drying them out.

This is the moisturizing polish remover. It’s the best remover I’ve used. Other brands say moisturizing on their labels but they dry out my nails leading to peeling, cracked dry nails. This remover doesn’t do this. I highly recommend Ella+Mila products!

The remover got the polish off without drying my nails out! They actually feel awesome after using it. It is oily, but that means it’s moisturizing. It didn’t get the polish off as well as acetone; the polish got sticky and gunky but it got it off by just rubbing the nail more. I’m so impressed and will repurchase for the health of my nails!

I don’t know the science behind this product, but it definitely removes nail polish and does so without the scent of traditional remover. You may have to rub a little more but the nail polish will definitely come off

Seriously the best nail polish remover I have ever used. It easily removed the dark brown nail polish I had on. My nails felt good after using it. Love that is has no acetone. Very low subtle lavender scent. Worth the money.

I had never used anything but the cheapest nail polish remover so keeping that in mind, this is the best I've ever used. I like changing my nail polish every 3-5 days or so and nail polish remover typically dries them out so badly. I was surprised at the oily texture of this, and doubly surprised that it smelled so pleasant. The oil helps my nails stay hydrated and it did a great job of taking off my standard at-home manicure with regular nail polish. I can't say how it would do with more difficult to remove polishes. When I've used it, I leave polish off for the rest of the day to let my nails recover a bit and then prep and polish them the following day. My nails look better than they ever have!

I originally purchased the remover when I was on a “acetone-free” kick a few years back (pre covid) but it wasn’t incredibly effective for the polish i was using then (some sort of quick dry Essie polish). I recently got back into doing my nails with Canmake polish that is incredibly stubborn with acetone, and quickly ran out of my acetone remover so this was the only remover i had left. It’s INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE. So much better than the acetone one!!! The acetone would leave my nails feeling brittle and it would wreck the towel I was using from all the swiping and soaking I had to do. This polish works beautifully. Just dab a small amount onto a paper towel, let that soaked bit sit on your nail for a minute, and then swipe a few times. Completely removes every bit of polish. It doesn’t dry quickly, so you can use that first little dab on your towel for all of your nails. The only con I have is the oily residue it leaves, it can sometimes get on clothing and other material (which you seriously need to watch out for. Acetone can dry quickly if you leave it alone but this stuff sits and soaks. It will ruin any plastic/polyester in your clothing and things like table cloths) Overall, excellent product!!

It works... eventually. you have to swipe this over your nail for several minutes before anything comes off. It smells nice and seems pretty gentle, but I'd rather have something that works more effectively. It's also a lot more expensive than your traditional cheap nail polish remover, and the bottle is really small.
