Q: Can I take one out of the freezer and put it in the oven, or will it break?

A: I definitely wouldn't. Fast temperature changes seem to be bad. I was adding eggs to mine (that had been out of the fridge for 10 minutes) to a cooked hash brown base and the hot + cool causes two to crack.

Quality tempered class should not break like this, so this product obviously has NOT been tested properly before being sold. And this is the 2nd time it’s happened to me.

Q: Can these be used from freezer to microwave without the glass container breaking or cracking in the microwave? I am preparing meals ahead of time for my son so he can take them out of the freezer and then put right in the microwave to cook and eat.

A: We always recommend allowing your glass meal prep container to reach room temperature before placing it in the microwave or oven, making sure the lid is removed before heating. Allowing it to come to room temperature reduces the risk of thermal shock when heating!

Unfortunately it cracked unexpectedly while ladling the dinner leftover due to moderation. Don’t use them often and use them on occasion. Hard to get everything from the grocery stores due to total payment. Leftovers will sizzle in the microwave while mine had cracked while putting portion control servings into bowl but couldn’t put the lid on & had to put servings back into the pot before losing in the fridge. Before cracks they are better than the wimpy plastic with lids; you have to take the rubber off before the oven. Haven’t put into the oven just yet. After losing one container I am not going to put any glass containers in the oven even without the rubber.

Overall I like these, but I shouldn't have put them in the oven. Even though I stayed at/below 400°, two of them still cracked. I'll go back to my Pyrex for oven use and will keep the rest of these for freezer, fridge, and microwave.

I washed these on the top rack, per directions. I heated up my meal and heard a pop in the microwave…assumed it was cheese bubbling. Wrong… the whole thing is cracked and I didn’t realize until after I ate half of it. Save yourself the money.

After 7 years of my original ello meal prep bowls, i had to replace a couple that had cracked. i bought this style with the tiny silicone boot. i washed them in the dishwasher before using - top rack only, as directed - and the boot came off and won't stay on as i try to put it back on. i have never had this problem with the mesh style silicone boot that goes all the way up

I love these Ello glass containers! I have had them for months and I have not had any issues. I take leftovers from dinner to work for my lunch the next day. Pop off the lid and throw it into the microwave. I keep them in the fridge and I’ve never had one break in the microwave. I threw out all my stained plastic tuber ware for these and will never go back. I do wish the lids could nest together somehow for better storage.

You know a product is good when you test it with curry chicken or a red sauce and it doesn't stain. These are super cute and come in some beautiful colors. When heated in the microwave, the rubber part does not get hot at all, making it easy to hold. Wonderful product worth it. I received this product complimentary from Influenster and Ello Duroglass.
