It is a natural potting mix, and it doesn't seem to smell particularly good or bad. Its texture is a bit different than your typical pitting mix.

I recommend adding perlite when using this product for drainage. Coco coir really holds in moisture that keeps the plants happy. Overall I think this brand is quite nice! You really get a lot in the bag.

Texture was quite smooth but the packaging was a little hard to open with my hands (which I’m not mad at.) I repotted one of my larger plants and added the coco mix and I’m noticing the leaves getting bigger.
