A: Hello Nanana. The EcoTank ET-3850 can print on standard inkjet-compatible label sheets like Epson Photo Quality Self-adhesive Sheets. Please note that we have not tested other third party sticky back paper, so your results will vary. We recommend contacting the manufacturer directly to see if it will work with our printers. Q: Will this printer print on cardstock that is 100lb (270 gsm) or 110lb (300 gsm)? Can it also print paper that is 25lb (40 gsm)?

The heaviest paper the Epson ET-3850 supports is Epson Premium Photo Glossy paper weighing 79 lb. Unfortunately, using 110lb paper in the machine is not recommended and can lead to paper feed issues. However, the thickest paper we have tested on the machine is Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, which weighs 79 lb. For cardstock, we have tested similar Epson paper that weighs around 44 lb. Please be aware that these recommendations are for Epson paper only. You can try a cardstock that falls in that range, but your results can vary when using other brands and heavier paper. Complicated set-up, took 2 hours to figure it out. Unclear instructions of little help. I was unable to find how to make this thing scan, but apparently it can do that. Adjustment of inkjets is guesswork. First print job worked, looked OK. "Paper jam at the back" on second print job. Opened back, all is clean, no paper to be seen. Checked the paper tray in front, no paper seen stuck in the feeder section. Restarted the printer: paper jam warning still on. Restarted the iMac: paper jam warning still on. It appears that the only way to find the jammed paper is disassemble the whole unit. I thought Epson was a good brand, but never again.

This printer is amazing and setup was a breeze. Downloaded the app and ran it after powering on printer as instructed. Within 15 mins I had everything setup. This included loading the ink cartridges and connected to wife through the app. This printer is awesome and it seems the ink will last a very good while. I have suspicion that most negative reviews here are fake, not all, but most.

I bought this printer over a month ago, and have been struggling with it ever since. There are no directions that account to anything and the print on it is so small that I have to use my magnifying glass. I like the inking process, but bought this for a using while writing a family book with pictures. It's slow and the keypad is difficult to select. I would not buy it again. Epson needs some work on this one.

Performs well, though slow. Quality is good and price per copy is great! If you need color copies, get this instead of ink jet cartridge refill printers because there is no comparison in cost. This will save the price of the printer just avoiding constant refills!

I really like the printer. The quality of construction is not the greatest, the scanner has a lot, and more than that to be desired, but the printing is excellent. Innovative, not in the slightest. Plotters have been doing this for a very long time. The plastic is just flimsy, maybe that means it would hold up better under a stress but feels thin. The scanner is very slow and will frequently misalign the paper or if not just right torque it so it binds up. Its slow and only does one sided unless done manually. They could have done a double sided manual flip and interleave the paper on the server side. For a high end scanner company they could have put a better scanner on it, its not new technology. Its like a good 1980s scanner. Would I recommend it, Its cheaper to run than my laser printer. That says a lot. Its less troublesome too. Its very good I just had hoped for awesome.

So I've been trying for years to buy ink cheaply. I need a printer about once a week, either for copying or printing, so not a daily work horse. This print was on sale for $259 and I snapped it up. It prints great but... on normal speed, it is fast enough but the print is slightly lighter than wanted or colors are not as bright as should be so I print on vivid or high or medium high depending on the choice and the print quality goes to great but the speed goes to OK. If I am doing a total print page, I go normal or even draft and it is good, if I need color, I always choose higher quality by a step and it takes twice as long for a good quality print. So after a couple of years, yes mine is 2 years old, it was sitting for a while and the magenta stopped working. I did a cleaning a couple of times and it didn't work, so I did a deep cleaning and it cleared whatever was the issue. Afterwards, I looked further into it and found out that deep cleaning throws a lot of ink through the printer head and it had to go somewhere, right? Well there is a tank in the back that it goes to and that tank fills up, once it does, the printer will not clean anymore. I found out that you can... buy a replacement (even though it is not considered a consumer replaceable item, it is easy enough but... that cost a bit. And you can do the messy cleaning of the tank that is there. Either way, you should try to avoid "deep cleaning" unless you absolutely have to. Do a print head cleaning several times before resorting to deep cleaning as there are about 3 times before the overflow is full. Use your printer a few time a week printing a color page to keep them from gumming up. Other than those two things, I love this printer as it is the first time I don't worry about running out of ink or not having a working cartridge or buy cartridges, etc... This printer save me from all the hell I would go through with printers just to have a printer or copier when I needed it rather than going to Staples, OfficeDepot, or Fedex, which I would resort to when complications came up and my printer didn't work. I have not had that issue since having the EcoTank. I have bottles of ink and never let the tanks go below 1/2.

I am amazed at all the negative reviews about this printer. My experience has been quite different having had this printer for over a year and have printed over 1500 pages. I still have half of the supplied ink left and no mechanical problems others complained of. I dont know about printing photos because i dont do that but text and scanning work well. Its nice to not have to worry about printing documents with many pages and ink usage. It is true that the ADF only gets one side of a two sided document which is a non issue to me again. Overall like the printer and would recommend it.

Do Not buy this worthless waste of space. I wish I'd kept my old HP. Installation was a pain. The scan utility is archaic and doesn't work 3/4 of the time. ADF doesn't pull the papers through straight. Bed scanner bulb is doing a weird thing where it flickers constantly. This was out of the box like that. Most of the time it won't connect.

I was very excited to receive this printer because of the ink tanks. It has a small footprint, is light weight and looks great. Unfortunately, it has only the most basic functions. Perfect if you only use it occasionally. It will print double sided, but NOT scan or copy double sided. With a cost of over $300, I expected to easily print 2 sided documents without manually placing the paper. Additionally, the connection kept dropping during set up. It is going back today.

Rather disappointed. Have had a few Epson ink-jet printers in the past and felt it was a reliable choice. I suppose I feel for the ink tank feature. I have to say the time it takes for the printer to actually start printing a document is ridiculous. It takes a minute and a half just to START printing even though the display says printing. From start to finish it takes 2.25 minutes to print a simple 3 page Word document. Find it annoying that I have to confirm I want to shut down.
