So far- so good. The install is only a little glitchy
I have just completed the WF-3820 setup for my desktop pc. It is a little glitchy. The very first thing the instructions tell you is not to connect it to your computer. Um, it's connected so I just didn't turn the computer on. Went through the on-board time/date... I found it humorous that the CD immediately begins downloading software - and odd given that internet had not been set up yet. The first real glitch came with updating the firmware. The printer itself said there was a firmware update as did the CD. The CD install tells you to turn the printer off then on again*. It failed updating the firmware three times. I went to epson.com and registered the printer. On the printer I found the UPDATE FIRMWARE at the very bottom of the main SETTINGS tab. No problem. The CD however still said there was a firmware update. *Without bothering to turn the printer OFF and ON again I ran it and Success. (There's only one firmware update on the Epson website btw). The test pages printed nicely. I saw there was an option to install optional software but you can't go backwards on the screen so I ran the disk again. The options available were uncheckable and it just reinstalled a COPY of the initial software. This is a problem with previous Epson printers. You end up with multiple printers and faxes after updates. I can tell already I'm not going to be thrilled with the scanner. There is no Scanner icon on the desktop and after creating the SMARTSCAN shortcut it defaults to an It's-smarter-than-me screen. I like the slightly smaller footprint For reference this is replacing a very old WF- 3640 when it could no longer print cleanly. I will continue searching for dual paper trays in the mean time. I hope the 822 ink for this is at least comparable to the 252 ink.

This printer is not an easy printer/scanner to add to Epson print enabler, one place tells you it can be added, as you try to add it you are told it cannot be added, thanks epson

If you don’t want to print, buy this printer!
One singular star because it prints. It avoids staying connected to WiFi more than I avoid my ex. It’s a seven day process to reconnect to WiFi every time. Hardwired? Yes. Still wants WiFi. Without, can’t print! Also doesn’t hold a full paper pack at once, and jams because it gets greedy and pulls 17 pages in at once. Very over this printer.

Great for most home use needs
I just bought and set this up. It's okay... Glad I only paid $99 for it but I was under the impression it did dual sided copy and scanning and I was wrong. That stinks for me for business purposes. That said it's still a descent machine for home use.

DO NOT BUY
Exactly 2 weeks over the 1 year warranty window, my printer no longer recognizes its own Epson brand ink cartridges. The scanner doesn’t work without the cartridges either for whatever reason. Now I have a $130 paperweight. Plus, Target got rid of order history over 1 year old so it was a huge pain just to find the receipt. Don’t buy Epson products or shop at Target.

Don't buy printer WF3820!!! You will regret your decision!!!
The only reason this is a 1 star is because I couldn't put 0. This is the absolute worst printer I have ever had!!! it continuously disconnects from my router and states "signal strength low" even though all my other devices connect to the WiFi with zero problems and my router is on the desk beside the printer!!! It takes me a good hour to get this thing to print!! It SUCKS!!!!

Horrible printer
Changed ink cartridges and ran clean and align procedures. Works for first page, but then prints lines across page on anything printed after. Only way to keep it from feeding multiple sheets of paper is to feed paper 1 sheet at a time. Printer is basically unusable because of print quality and cant print multiple page documents.

Dont buy!
Really upset with this printer since it's supposed to be a business office rated printer?! I think not! 60 pages in and it was printing horribly! Do not buy! That's a reason it's on sale!
