A: Hi Martin! Yes, the capsule contents can be added to food or drink; however do not mix Florastor in any carbonated, very hot (above 122°F), or alcohol-containing beverages or foods.

Florastor® is a daily probiotic supplement intended to support the body’s own natural intestinal flora that are vulnerable to lifestyle stressors (travel, sleep, diet), antibiotic use, and the occasional nonspecific digestive issues. Long-term use of Florastor® has not been associated with any complications. After repeated oral doses, Florastor® transits through the digestive tract attaining steady-state levels that are maintained throughout use. Florastor® is no longer present in stools two to five days after discontinuation of treatment. A: Hi! Florastor can be taken with or without food with no change to its effectiveness. Therefore, the time of day is based on your personal preference. Approximately 30 minutes after ingestion, the Florastor capsule dissolves in the stomach, allowing the yeast cells to help keep your intestinal tract on track. After a recent hospitalization during which I was given large doses of antibiotics and steroids, my digestive system was absolutely wrecked and I was running to the bathroom non-stop for days. I recently had to take some Macrobid for a UTI. Haven’t taken antibiotics in years and it was really hurting my stomach and making me feel nauseous. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Florastor kinda expensive but I noticed the difference right away. Just one pill probiotic everyday made me feel less bloated and less gassy. Especially with certain foods, greasy and fatty taking this pill will help reduce the heavy feeling.

A must have when taking antibiotics
This stuff is incredible! I was taking amoxicillin and it makes me so sick, I’ve even gotten cdiff from antibiotics use before so it was incredibly important for me to find a probiotic that would prevent that. This worked so well, I will continue to take even when I’m not on antibiotics. The strain used is more effective than any basic probiotic I’ve used in the past.

My doctor recommended these to me so I’ve taken 2/day for about a year now and it makes a world of difference. I was SO nauseous after every meal, and now I’m only nauseous about once a month, which is usually due to my own poor food choices. No other probiotics that I’ve tried even come close. My only dislike is that sometimes they taste pretty bad & they’re a little pricey. Otherwise it’s a 10/10 from me :)
