Disposable after three years, less then replacement for battery

Does scan for SW, however not sure if that band is really used..no signals, and not high enough band range for airports et cetera. Older eyes make interfacing problematic. Need to fully charge on arrival.. manual says ~ 3 hours to begin learning interface. Blue tooth connection was seamless. No charger provides, just cord. Limited lifetime warranty…but batteries will last around 3 years…then replace battery…or will it be cheaper to toss out and get newer device. Seems like a lot for a “ throw away”:radio and light. Nice hard plastic outer case, well packaged upon arrival. Small enough for portability without being overly bulky decent AM FM reception and weather channel.
