Q: Why did you recently change the formula and quality of this product? Parents rely on consistency and quality in products they’re using on their children.

submitted by Jackie - 4 years ago
  • A: I don't exactly when they changed the formulation, but these "fragrance-free" wipes have an awful smell now. Definitely not fragrance-free. Please go back to the OG formula!

Q: was there a recent formula change? the wipes smell horrible now like chemicals

submitted by Mia - 4 months ago
  • A: You may have a contaminated batch according to Google I apparently did and used 90% of them without being told of them being pulled from the shelves in the larger pack options and thought they were discontinued… NOPE!! Lovely how no one’s responding here

submitted byAshley - 2 months ago
  • A: I recently bought a large box and every pack has a very strong chemical smell. I thought I was imagining it but seeing this question confirms my suspicions. I will unfortunately need to throw them away.

submitted byDanielle - 3 months ago
  • A: I had the same issue. I had to throw away about $70 worth of wipes because they all seemed to have mold. Store said to bring it in the store for a refund but that was such an inconvenience considering the store I bought it from was an hr. Away.

submitted byMom - 1 month ago
  • A: I just bought a box of 1200 open a pack today and they look yellow

  • A: Just for the record, regardless of labeling, literally no wipes are flushable. Ask your water treatment plant. Wipes of any type should never ever be flushed.

We have been buying these wipes for a long time now. Today we got a batch of them that are all filled with mold.

Decent and cheap wipes, but unstable natural ingredients.

these wipes are nice and cheap. not too abrasive however there is a concern most seem to be having, us originally included. due to the natural plant ingredients such as the aloe and coco glycinate, the wipes react to air a lot and can yellow. This discoloration is simply the natural plant fibers breaking down. However, this dying process does transition to the body over use. we've monitored it and no rashes or side effects have shown themselves. It appears perfectly safe and it washes off easily. People have a reason to be concerned about potential mold, however there is always a smell with molds. Figured I would say something to help out the next parent.

    WERE COVERED IN MOLD

Upon opening these wipes, they were brown and spotted smelled terrible, moldy. Luckily I was able to return for a refund at Target but I will not be buying again.

    Contaminated

i bought in bulk all the way back in November 2025 and was now just opening these and they were brown and obviously contaminated. Even the wipe packs that still looked white were starting to smell like sour milk. i called Target and got a refund.

    Please Do Better!

I have been purchasing Fragrance-Free Baby Wipes—up&up—for years, as all my kids have eczema issues, and this seems to be the only brand that we have tried that won’t cause more irritation on the skin.   However, recently the quality of the wipes has gone downhill, either the wipes are too wet or they have weird smells.   The recent batch I ordered from Target was even worse, it is yellowed and seems to have been contaminated with unknown chemical substance.   I guess I will have to find a new brand of wipes now.

    Beware!

So incredibly grossed out! The entire package is bad from the minute I opened it. Beware when using these for your babe especially when it’s the middle of the night with a newborn, exhausted and delirious when reaching for a new pack of wipes.

    Quality has Gone Downhill

I'm so disappointed. These used to be the best wipes; they were super soft, didn't dry out in my wipe warmer, and pulled nicely out of the warmer. However, Target has obviously changed how they make these now because they are awful! They are scratchy, dry out quickly, and don't pull nicely from the warmer. I know I'm not crazy because I compared them with wipes from a bulk pack I purchased months ago, and the wipes that I received this time are nothing like them. I'm embarrassed that I recommended these to my friends. I've noticed across the board, it seems like the quality on Target brand items has gone down, so buyer beware. Will not be purchasing these again unless they return to how they originally produced them.

I noticed mold on my wipes and came to write a review, only to see others are experiencing the same! Yuck! I have three children and in that time have never experienced this with other wipe brands.
