I love this mat and have been using it for years now. I love how thick it is, and the different texture on both sides is nice. I personally don’t find it slippery. I’m typically doing yin yoga poses.

I liked the thickness of this nat. It became very slippery after a couple of uses. I made the mistake of leaving it in my car, the Florida heat made it shrivel and is no longer usable.

Friends. It's a good comfortable mat, but the grip is difficult. When I first got this mat it had a little paper slip that said if it was slippery, to dampen it. Unbothered I used it anyway. I've always used Gaiam and the cheaper mats have had fine grip - as we all know sometimes they can be a bit slippery, but this one is a bit much. Luckily I have some grippy towels from hot yoga that I can use with it, but it's disappointing.

We are sorry for any issues you've encountered with your mat. Grip is a personal preference, and what works for one customer may not work for another based on how much you sweat during your practice. If the mat does not work for you, you are welcome to return or exchange it with the retailer.

Looooove this yoga mat! The textures on the front and back are interesting at first, but once you get used to them you learn to love the grip they provide. Definitely a unique mat and I wouldn’t say it’s for beginners solely because of the texture and thinness of the mat. I really prefer a thin mat, so this is a perfect pick for me. I have shopped with the brand and have used their yoga mats for almost 4 years, they are high quality and long lasting. I still have my first yoga mat from them and it has aged so so well!!

I specifically chose Gaiam because I had another yoga mat that started to shred quickly and have always relied on Gaiam for quality. It was so disappointing to find, like so many, how slippery this yoga mat is. I'm better off just doing my practice on the wood floor or carpet. I did the vinegar/water cleaning but it didn't help. On the plus side, they are great colors with really nice cushioned support.

Was trying to find a mat that was thicker than standard yoga mats, but not too thick that it would take up too much space. The red side is slippery, but the blue side I found pretty grippy. I now realize the blue side is probably meant to grip to the floor so it wouldn't slide around, but I'm using it on top of a rug, and it hasn't slipped that much, I just have to adjust it every now and then, but it doesn't really get annoying.
It does scratch easy, I had to make sure to keep it out of reach of my roommate's cats!

Like most rubber mats this one is slippery. It is cushiony but I cant enjoy the cushion because of my next insight. I noticed red dots on shoulders after a yoga class and was confused. Some time after I noticed the same dots on my knees and realized that anywhere I apply pressure against this matt it causes red dots broken blood vessels/capillaries). Huge design flaw. I can't use a mat that causes harm to my body every time.

Love this mat. I have been using for about a year twice a week. It holds up really well and cleans easily with a spray bottle. Many reviewers complain it is slippery, but only with socks- in bare feet (as you should be practicing) it is not slippery at all. I think it compares very well to much higher priced mats.
