I use this for tracking runs, walks, and bike rides. I like this watch because it is relatively small and makes it easy to track activities without the bulk of the larger, "more advanced" watches. The display is super clear and I love it's integration with my phone. If you're looking for advanced metrics like HRV or detailed sleep tracking - this isn't the device for you. But as a lightweight option when those features aren't important or as a "starter watch" to get you into the world of activity and metric tracking this is a fantastic route.

It worked really well for the first week I had it. Now I'm having heart rate and calorie burn ratio inaccurate for a couple weeks wasting chunks of time and leading to overexercise to get stats. Can't seem to fix it. Still having to wear a Fitbit on other wrist for back up. Missing the amoled display. I can barely see the screen on this unless I put bright ness on 100. Kinda mad at it cuz I was hoping it would solve the heart rate issues I've had with my other Garmin watches. They all seem to think that while jumping around like and idiot and despite the fact that I take medicine for ADHD my heart rate is 42. Um nooooo.

The good: I really like the face setup options that displays a clock and all of the settings I like. The battery lasts a long time. The bad: it doesn't count steps when mowing the lawn. probably 50K steps a month for me. So I am returning and going back to a fitbit.

I bought this watch a while ago and it is perfect for me. It has a big enough screen and it has a pacing feature built into it so I can know my pace. This watch is perfect for runners for looking for a large screen watch that is compatible with their needs.

I wasnt sure which version of the Forerunner I wanted to get to but decided on the 55 and couldn't be happier. I have small wrists so the smaller watch face is perfect. The display is also perfectly balance between simplicity and having all the details I need to track my running.

Despite 30 minutes in open space, many soft and many hard resets, and deleting GPS.bin file and re-syncing 10 times... I GIVE UP. There is NO INDICATION of why my GPS position cannot be determined...There are NO error messages, so I cannot figure out why it will not work any more. It used to work ok.

Functional, easy to use, and has what I need! I use for workouts, to track my steps, check the weather throughout the day, my sleep, heart rate and compete with my husband. It could use a weightlifting/strength option, great for beginners to the fitness industry.

So far, the Forerunner 55 is an awesome watch to have. Pretty accurate heart rate, step counter, running, GPS, and cycling functions. I have yet to fully test the water resistance capabilities but I’d bet my bottom dollar on it. I’d recommend on buying a screen protector for it just in case; it comes in handy for people who are prone to bumping their wrist in small/tight places. Furthermore, I was cycling to a local lake to go fishing on Memorial Day and the Forerunner 55 automatically activated a cycling activity. Pretty good stuff. :)

In my family of 4 we have 6 Garmin's. They continue to get better each time we get a new one and this is no exception. The funtionality is always good so really the upgrade here is the screen. It's super clear, bright, and the last one we had was not a touch screen, that is a nice addition on this model. Great price for what you get.
