Outstanding Battery life
I bought this watch for running but I have really enjoyed using it as a smartwatch as well. The baseline heart rate zoning was way off on my first run but that adjusted itself over time. The battery is what I’m most impressed by though. I went on a 7 day work trip without my charger and when I got home I still had about 25% battery. It also charges in like an hour. My only complaint is you have to frequently sync it in the app to keep up to date weather information.

Lots of new features!
This is much different from my last Garmin watch. I still have things to learn about it. I've had it for a month. I am very pleased with it.

Mediocre watch with shoddy charging
I have used the Fenix 6 for years. I love that watch; unfortunately, I couldn't access a specific training module I wanted. I bought the Forerunner 165 with plans to just use it for running (because it doesn't come with any winter compatible activities) and the specific training plan. I purchased my watch in January 2026. It is only March 2026 and it already has the dreaded charging issue--the one where you have to have the watch and the charger placed 'just so' in order to charge it. I have three different chargers and the watch has an issue with each cable. My Fenix 6 still charges with no issue, using those same chargers. I am not very happy with this watch! What a real bummer.

AWESOME!
I’ve had my watch for 2 weeks and I love it! Initially I wanted to get it so that I could track my heart rate and my calories burned while on a run, and it has definitely lived up to those expectations. It has easily connected to my Runna app and Strava so when I workout it immediately uploads the information to these apps. It also gives me additional information about my workout along with telling me how long my body needs to recover. The battery life is amazing and even when I need to charge it it can charge super fast. It also tracks my sleep along with heart rate during the day. There are lots of other features on the watch that I’m still learning about, but I’m still obsessed and very pleased with my purchase!

Forerunner 165 Excellent Watch
The Garmin Forerunner 165 Watch is an excellent sports watch, especially when combined with the Garmin 200 Heart Rate Monitor Chest Strap. I recently had Open-Heart Surgery. I used to monitor my HR while exercising—great results, which promote self-confidence. Tremendo relog para ejercitarce.

Forerunner 165
I bought this about 1 month ago and really like it. I am not a runner, I am a walker but it still work great. Only think that I am struggling with is chaging the face so that it shows walking not running. But that doe sot stop me from waring it as there are other ways to get to the steps walked. I love it and woudl recommend it.

Still Learning
I got this watch about a month ago and I’m still trying to learn features. Wish the features were more explanatory and simpler to figure out. But overall a nice watch. I had the XT 735 before and this is a close replacement.

Ending a Lap Swim Training Session
I bought this watch 3 weeks ago to use in place of my Venu3 (although heavier, it was simple to stop and save session - works perfectly). My older Swim 2 (which stop and saved the session as venue 3). On the 165 I have to press the start/stop button numerous times to save the session. It makes me go answer several screens (how I felt, stress levels, etc. - instead of just saving the session. A real pain - As a result, I do not like this watch in comparison to Swim 2 and Venu 3.

Why didn’t I get this sooner
I had the vivo active 3 and loved it. Did everything I needed it to, but the forerunner 165 is the next level. If you take running and fitness seriously, then you need this watch. The features it has with HRV, recovery, sleep coach, body battery are game changers. They really give a more complete understanding of your body which then leads to a healthier life and better training.

Underappreciated until I realized!
I had a FR235 since 2017 that finally failed while swimming in the Atlantic in 2025(8 years later). I purchased this FR165 and found that it actually improved upon just about everything the 235 did. I recently 'lost' this watch and after searching for a while I went and purchased the much hyped Pixel Watch 4. Big mistake...I found its Fitbit based training seriously lacking when compared to Garmin Connect. Since then Ive found my FR165 and returned the PixelWatch. I now have a new appreciation of how good this watch is for anyone serious about training. No comparison.

Great watch!
My wife bought me a165 for Christmas as a daily driver so I wouldn't beat-up my 935, but I like it so much and it has all the features I usually use; I've pretty much stopped using my older 935 altogether. I love the color on the screens and the images included with texts. In my humble opinion, it a really awesome watch.

Doesn’t work at all
I have had this watch for a little over a year and as of the new update, the phone doesn’t work at all. I had spent hours upon hours with chat and watching videos of how to fix it. Now it’s just an expensive paper weight. I can no longer recommend Garmin.
