    Great GPS Good Apps

I moved from a Fitbit to the Garmin VA5. I do like it, but even after a yr I'm still swiping when I should be pushing a button. The Fitbit was much more user friendly. Easy swipes then taps. Easy pause taps during exercise. This watch still has a way to go to simply things. It should be the way of the our phones, easy taps and swipes.

    Good, but...

Had watch for a month, still haven't tried all features. Wish it had altimeter. I was 69% complete on climbing Mt McKinley on Garmin app, but this watch doesn't track stairs. I wouldn't have bought if I had known. I only purchased because my vivoactive 4 band broke and you cant replace the band. Sleeping with the bigger face is bothersome as well.

Ordered two, both failed in less than five days

User interface is not intuitive. Many steps to set up- like two hours to get things dialed in including four different resets. I bought two - one for my wife and one for me. After the amount of time I put into mine I returned my wife's unopened to the store. Figured I would struggle through for a few days, but now the watch face is static, even though there are multiple faces available. Found out in forums this is a known problem to Garmin. They old UI was pretty good from what I've read, but they moved a lot of functionality out of the app and onto the watch face (workout routine set up, tracking, watch faces, etc.) and this has been a disaster. I've got a third email into Garmin now, but will likely return this last one today and just be done with it. I hope others have better luck.

    Not great

I've owned a few Garmin watches and this one has been the worst. With only 2 lasers on the back it often times won't track, well anything. It's pretty and smaller, which is great, but definitely needs to have the 4 lasers like all of my other watches.

    Not Water Resistant

I have had 2 Garmins. Venu 2 & Vivoactive 5. Both say they are water resistant. They had the swimming meter on them. Both quit working after about a year & a half. I swam in 3 ft of water 3 or 4 times a month (Jun-Sept). It is a shame, I really liked both watches. The water is the only thing I can think of that made them stop working.

    Beautiful watch, ugly software

Wow, where to start. The software is weird, ugly, and unintuitive. I can’t believe a company as big as Garmin put out such a lousy product experience. It honestly looks like the software that comes on the generic $25 fitness watches. The watch comes with one face. To add more, you need to download another Garmin app, and many of the faces are third party made that you have to pay for. Really, Garmin? Also, the watch constantly lost connection to my phone, so when I was trying to use an app, a message would pop up that I needed to re-connect to it. I’m thankful for Target’s good return policy, because this watch doesn’t deserve its $200 price tag.

    Does the job

I replaced a Fitbit that over time the display became unreadable. The Garman is much easier to read. The Garmin menu system is not great to navigate. I am satisfied but not enthusiastic about the watch.

    Nice upgrade from Vivoactive HR

My old Vivoactive HR broke down and it was time to upgrade. I bought the Vivoactive 5 even though there is a newer version since it was less expensive. The Vivoactive 5 connects to my phone immediately where the HR model took a while to connect after a run or workout. The display is bright and colorful and there are many options for the watch face. The only change I would like to make it to have the time of day on the workout option. Maybe there is a way to add this but I haven't figured it out yet. This model does so much that I can't imagine the Vivoactive 6 having even more features. I'm sure it does but the 5 has plenty of features for me.

    Won’t hold a charge

I bought mine in May and it already won’t hold a charge. Doesn’t even last 24 hours. I switched from Fitbit to garmin for this exact reason and my garmin has proven to be way worse than Fitbit products! So disappointing.

    Not so good

My 5th Vivioactive watch over the last 12 years. Used for cycling, swimming, SUP, hiking(walking) pickleball and lots of other workouts and activities. This watch has quickly become a disappointment due to how it’s sensing and recording my workouts. My 4 was very accurate compared to the 5. Not sure if it’s the sensor or the software.

    Great Watch Nice Features

Switched from FitBit and could not be happier. Love the features, the battery life. Very pleased with the recommendation to switch off features to extend the battery life. The silicone band I have reactions to so had to switch out band. The one thing I would recommend that I cannot find is when charging and I have gotten my steps in I am not able to add them to the day like I was with the other, I would really like to be able to add the steps in when charging or the workout in when charging but it does not let you load it into the day. I am so hopeful for this model and wanted it for a long time. Early birthdday present and so far loving it going to go ahead and subscribe for 1 year and test this out. Really like it, still figuring it all out. But so far so good. 58 year old female user.

    Somewhat disappointing

I wanted something I did not have to charge daily and this fits the bill. Overall its a good watch, however it connects and disconnects constantly and I can not connect at the distance it said I could. That is very disappointing and obnoxious
