I bought my Garmin Vivo Smart 5 last month and I'm so glad I did. It's more user-friendly than the previous versions. Easy to find directions/examples to set-up and include the widgets you need. The only negative is that the battery runs down a lot faster, and I can't figure out why.
Sad goodbye to Vivofit 4

I know Vivofit 4 probably had to go away due to the long lasting battery but I wish Garmin had replaced it with a similar rechargeable device. Vivosmart does too much and makes it hard to see what I want to see.

Over all it did it's job I enjoyed it Now for whatever reason it is not recording my sleep, Live chat had me do hard reset, which apparently did not fix the issue. I like the set up, I don't really like that I cannot customize my step stride though. I'm not a person who takes big steps.

I gave this item a 10/10. Does everything I need it to do for me. I enjoy how slim the Vivosmart 5 is and its long battery life. The sleep study was great info as well. I would recommend this to all my friends. I think the only negative part is that the manual says not to take it in hot areas, and as someone who uses the sauna 4x a week, that can be concerning. Haven't used it in the sauna yet with it on, but don't want to take that chance.

I like the “Move” alert. The swim record is cool too, Unfortunately I tried to record surfing but I couldn’t figure how to set up the options when go surfing. Is there a secret to it. The sleep tracking is a good reminder when more rest is needed. It seems to match closely to my biorhythms which I check using another app. I look forward to getting the sleep arm band in the future.

I purchased the Vivosmart 5 as it noted extended battery life compared to the 4. It’s worse! Doesn’t hold a charge for two full days.

I’ve had my smart watch for about three weeks now and I’m pretty happy with it. I like the small size and it is comfortable on the wrist. The only thing that I find disappointing is that it takes quite a while to sync from the watch to app. For instance, when I want to see my sleep tracking numbers, it’s not quick. Same as with my steps. I know I’ve had almost my goal in steps today, but it’s kind of stuck at 31 for whatever reason. The battery life is fair. I’d hoped it’d last at least 5 days but I recharge every 2 or so.

I hope you are having a good weekend! When you sync the device, it might take a minute to sync, but if it does take longer, you can click on the two arrows next to the device picture in the Garmin Connect app. That is how you manually sync. Here is a helpful article if you have issues with syncing. "My Device Is Not Syncing Data to the Garmin Connect App" - http://ms.spr.ly/6421sQHHd You can also sync with Garmin Express. To do this you would: • Connect the device to your computer using a USB cable. • Go to www.garmin.com/express. • Follow the on-screen instructions. For the battery I would recommend checking out this article. "Why Is the Battery of My Garmin Watch Draining Faster than Expected?" - http://ms.spr.ly/6422sQHHe If you need additional support, please call our product support team. Their phone number is 800-800-1020. M - F, 7 AM - 7 PM

I've been wearing it for a few weeks as well as my Samsung watch and it dies 3x before my Samsung watch needs charged. I end up not even getting to count all my steps every day because it ends up dying

We appreciate the review! The vivosmart 5's battery can be impacted by how it is used, but you should be getting up to 7 days in smartwatch mode. The owner's manual offers tips to help maximize the battery life: http://ms.spr.ly/6427sSMqx If you have questions, Garmin Support would be happy to help! I got this free from my insurance. I'm used to a bigger fitbit. I love the features on this vivosmart 5, but the vibration isn't strong enough to use as an alarm. This little thing has a LOT of features packed into it. Just wish it was more powerful as an alarm as im deaf at night and need the vibrating alarm function.

I'm 73 so it's probably not for people like me. Small screen, hard to read, and wristband itches my skin. Not really interested in keeping tabs on statistics 24/7.

I like the sleekness, not bulky. Fast charging. My negative is - I’m 68 and walk 5 to 10 miles every day.. my walk involves 2 big hills..my old Fitbit used to recognize this activity, the Garmin doesn’t -just the steps my intensity level never moves . My Fitness Age is still 68. The Fitbit had me in the top end for my age.I know a lot of people my age and the majority are not doing the physical activities I do.

I didn’t want to wear a ring or pedometer, chest strap or large watch face , so I ordered the garmin vivosmart 5 wristband . And come to find out besides the step tracker and hrt - pulse monitor , it also is a watch. And with GPS syncs to my phone also alerts me with caller id. Surprise! I love that .I do use multiple functions, cause it has some many and I have found that I reach my fitness goals on the days I wear it. I recommend this garmin .
