Q: Does this watch have a small band as well as a large band?

A: Yes, however, Black is the only one that comes in large, the other colors are small/medium.

I have had a Vivosmart for several years now. I’m primarily a cyclist but enjoy the added training data and features made available by using the Vivosmart. Such data and features include the sleep score, body battery, and pulse oximeter. The accuracy of these readings are similar to other wrist-based devices and sufficient for my needs. The battery capacity is as advertised. I would prefer a device without screen to reduce the size and would also prefer the improved heart rate monitoring system Garmin utilizes on the newer watches. Finally, I would also like to see the device automatically pair with Edge cycling computers.

For me Garmin 5 makes a difference. I find myself walking more 10,000 steps a day. I even walk in my apartment. I enjoy seeing all the different details it presents, especially calories.

I needed a replacement for my pocket Fitbit. (I use a rollator, so my arms never move when I walk.) While I wish this device worked in a pocket, it only sort-of works in a pocket. I bought a velcro ankle strap and the device works well there. I love the app, which is why I will keep the Vivosmart 5. I wish Garmin made a pocket device, but this is a good alternative for me.

I wore my Vivosmart 5 for two days. It has too many features, most of which I do not need or what. It was too complicated to use. The red light flashing in the middle of the night is down right scary. In spite of all the features, it was missing two features Fitbits have that I really missed. I decided the Vivosmart was not for me and returned it.

I was reluctant to buy , as I had the 4 and the 4 had features I really liked. One was the battery. They’d last 1-2 years. No need to recharge and it gave me basic info. Steps, sleep, intensity and gym info. The 5 offered so much more and I was apprehensive I couldn’t figure it out. Surprisingly I was able to operate it fairly quickly. And I just charge it when I take a shower. Stays sufficiently charged, no problem whatsoever! The Body Battery and stress information is really neat . Nice work Garmin !
