A: We do not recommend food coloring for our Classic White Chips. Because of the formulation any liquid will cause them to turn clumpy. You can however add a fat-based food coloring tour White Vanilla Flavored Meting wafers.

They can also be melted and used for dipping, the instructions are included on the back of the package, Ghirardelli white chips are intended for general baking, the Ghirardelli melting wafers differ because they include a stabilizing ingredient so you do not need to temper the chocolate allowing it to set beautifully for dipped treats.

These chips are NOT real white chocolate! Beware. True white chocolate is still chocolate bc the dairy has cocoa butter. These chips used to be genuine white chocolate, they are NOT anymore. The taste is sour and phlegmy. Buy the white chocolate bar by Ghirardelli,— most cases, just look up on the same aisle— really delicious. These chips are just oils, dairy, and lecithin— just oily sweetened dairy chips Sad.

Not a fan of white chocolate, to be honest, but these chips don't even have any relationship to the cacao bean that all chocolate comes from. They are made from palm kernel oil. You can research the devastating environmental impact of that oil if you wish, but if you're looking for white chocolate chips that derive from cacao beans, these ain't it.

Tastes great and melts well! I tried melting these chips and the Ghirardelli white chocolate bar for comparison, and they both turned out great. Microwave on 50% power until melted! About 1.5 min for half the bag. I dipped pretzels in the melted chocolate for the perfect sweet and salty treat.
Great for cookies! Especially with pecans!

I used some to make cookies and some to melt and drizzle on strawberries. Both were delicious! The chips stayed quite formed in the cookies which is how I like most chocolate chips in cookies. As for the melting, they melted pretty well, but not entirely smooth. The flavor was great in both & I will definitely buy these again!

I honestly think these white chocolate chips are the best quality and flavor out there. I used half of the bag I had to make white chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookies and they were just perfect! The other half of the bag I melted down for a white chocolate dip for peanut butter balls. Again, perfect! The consistency and the flavor are both a solid 10. They melt so nice and smooth and really have the best white chocolate flavor! These are honestly just the best I've ever tried and I will be using them consistently in my baking from now on.
