Q: does this come with a stand?

submitted by Rosalba - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about GoPro Hero Compact Action Camera Specialty Bundle. The GoPro HERO Compact Action Camera Specialty Bundle (released in late 2024) typically includes a handheld stand/grip, but the exact type of "stand" depends on which specific version of the bundle you are looking at. Most official retailers (like GoPro, REI, and Samy's) carry the bundle that includes The Handler, while some "mega-bundles" (like at HSN) include a Flexible Tripod. 1. The Most Common Bundle (Official Specialty Bundle) If you are buying the standard $269 Specialty Bundle, it comes with The Handler. What it is: A floating hand grip. Stand Functionality: While it is primarily a handle for handheld shooting or water use, it has a flat bottom that allows it to stand upright on a flat surface like a table. It does not have tripod legs. Other contents: Bite Mount, 64GB MicroSD card, Carrying Case, and several Adhesive Mounts. 2. The "HSN" or "Mega" Bundle If you are looking at a bundle from HSN or a similar TV/Online outlet, they often include a Flexible Tripod. What it is: A "GorillaPod" style stand with bendable legs. Stand Functionality: This is a true tripod that can stand on uneven surfaces or wrap around objects like poles or tree branches. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

The product has garnered mixed feedback from guests, highlighting its compact size and video quality as major strengths, particularly for younger filmmakers and beginners. However, many guests have expressed concerns about battery life, connectivity issues, and the reliance on the Quik app for stabilization. While it serves well for action sports and casual use, guests recommend considering alternatives for more serious filming needs due to its limitations.

Great for shorter, quick action shots

Overall, skip this camera, the lack of a linear shot option was rather disappointing. Its great for biking footage, but I wouldn't use it for anything else.

    Great camera, horrible reliability

I got this GoPro hero for skiing. I had a GoPro 3, years ago and loved it. So now that I am older, I wanted to do GoPro videos again. I bought this and it mounts to my helmet very easily but the software for GoPro is absolutely horrible. I just finished an out west ski trip. The first day I had to factory reset the GoPro because it won’t connect to my phone after resetting the network setting multiple times. Once it reset and connected, I tried updating the software to prevent that problem, but it took 10 tries because it kept failing. I then used it for the whole day and it was great and I loved it. I charged it overnight using the same charger I used to charge my phone the previous day. When I woke up, it still said 0%. I then had to factory reset the GoPro again in order for it to charge, but I wasn’t able to bring it out since it’s still had 0% charge. And then the second day halfway through the day it jumped from 50% to zero just sitting in my pocket. When I got back, I tried to charge it and it again required me to factory reset the GoPro. In all I’ve had to factory reset the GoPro three times in a two day span. Great camera, but the reliability is absolutely horrible so unfortunately, I would not recommend it

    Go pro hero 4K

Honestly love the size and quality of video this gives me when it’s not dead tho seems like every time I hit record it missed all the stuff i want to film because it the battery died. I’m using this primarily for UTV prerunner videos so I hit record when we start to drive and about 20 minutes latter it’s got a dead battery.

Bought 2. One didn't charge at all, DOA. Second just blank screens half the time I use it.

Also. . . won't charge using mag adapter. I had to use a cheap throw-away charger and that kind of worked. But still, half the time I just get a blank screen and the device just won't really function whatsoever. Really, really bad QA for this to occur on 2 devices back to back.

    A great product

I loved this product. The HERO is super light weight. Although, the battery does die pretty fast. Otherwise this is a perfect product for any beginner wanting great quality.

    4 wheeling and Repo safety

I bought a hero on sale because my truck has a GoPro mount on the windshield and it’s great for off roading. Lately I’ve been using it for safety going out on repos and dealing lienholders, once I mention theyre being recorded they act more professional and less threatening because I wear it for protection both ways, it gives them a graceful reminder and once they know, they act more accountable and less likely to be a problem during the repo, thanks GoPro! Great camera!!!

    Faulty

Mine has never worked properly since it came out of the box. It turns on immediately after being charged and wont turn off until the battery is dead. The refund page says it is not eligable for a return.

    Expensive paper weight

Brand new out of the box and took it to record and it burnt up or something. Wouldn't charge or turn on. After some research I found many others with the same experience with this product being new. Buy something else this is junk.

Great Camera. . . not many accessories.

I bought this camera for it's size, and that it has pretty good video quality. However, I do a lot of motorcycle videos, but no windscreen covers available for this camera (that I've been able to locate). The microphone makes really odd sounds at speed, which I am forced to dub-over with music. The picture quality is everything I've ever wanted.

    Hero 4K

This camera completely bricked on my first ride. Only a couple days after receiving it. Brand new in the box from GoPro. It recorded for 51 seconds and shut down. Kept turning on and off by itself after that the same day. Then wouldn’t take a charge or turn on and completely shut down. After trying all the reset options still nothing! I see why people are leaving and walking away from GoPro! I literally got hit by a truck in the freeway riding my motorcycle the next day after it wouldn’t work and had no proof it was the other guys fault! Thanks for nothing GoPro. I also put in for a refund or replacement and haven’t heard anything back. Just straight ignoring me. I gave one star but only because you have to in order to do a review. Actually negative stars is what this garbage device is worth!

    DO NOT BUY

Worst user experience of any product ever, allow me to explain. GoPro footage is shaky by nature (on your head, handheld, on your bike, etc. ) and needs stabilization. GoPro has great stabilization, but for this camera, they require you to import footage to the Quik mobile app on a phone in order to stabilize it. It takes hours to transfer footage from camera to phone because the only method is over wifi, and the camera will overheat and turn off during the process so you'll have to restart from the last completed clip transfer. Once in app, you must individually stabilize and export each clip to get 4K resolution. App crashes regularly during stabilization and this process also takes hours because you have to do each clip individually. I have the top end iPhone 14 Pro Max, good luck if you have a less powerful phone. Then you have to transfer files from phone to computer, which takes forever over Airdrop, and the files are too large to upload to iCloud. I have tried every troubleshooting step in every article they have. The app continues to crash during stabilization on certain clips, doesn’t matter how many times I restart the app, restart the phone, delete and reimport the clips. My phone has 80% storage free, 1TB total storage. No other apps running. Still crashes every time on the same clips.

    Amazing But

By Far The Best Mini Camera I've Bought So Far, Outstanding Stabilization And Quality. The Only Bad Side To It Is You Can Accidentally Click The Record Button And It Will Start Recording When It's Not One. Now This Has Saved Me From Missing A Shot Twice But Its Caused More Trouble Then It's Prevented.

They call it Quik, but it's incredibly sloooowwww

This camera is pretty good as an action camera—it's durable, lightweight and shoots 4K. However, everything else about it is half baked. The worst part is, you know they did this to target a lower price bracket and a more "consumer" audience. Allow me to elaborate. . . The battery is built in and they advertise ONLY 1 HOUR of life. In my experience, it can go closer to 2 hours in warm weather, but it's dismal in the cold. Good luck getting 1 ski run in. The stabilization in the Quik app is a very poorly executed idea. Sure, it works, but let's say you just shot 8 hours of footage across 35 clips. First, you have to transfer all those clips from the camera to your phone, which takes hours. You need lots of storage on your phone too. Not to mention, the GoPro will overheat during the transfer process and turn off (happens to me every time), so you'll have to wait another hour for it to cool, then continue with the clips that didn't go thru. Also, you need to keep the camera plugged in or it will die while transferring. Once you've spent a day and a half transferring footage to your phone, then you have to export the clips from the Quik app so the stabilization gets applied. This takes even longer than transferring from the camera to the phone, and you have to stay on the Quik app screen during the export. A 10 minute clip at 4K takes about 10 minutes to export. Multiply that by 35 clips and that's about 6 hours to export everything. And you have to do it one at a time. . . no bulk export option. It breaks my brain that the team at GoPro approved this idea. It's one of the worst user experiences of any product I have ever used. They could have solved it all by putting the stabilization in-camera and using removable batteries. But then you wouldn't need to buy the Hero13. . .

    buggy

when the camera correctly pairs to the app it is good. however, far to frequently it will not pair, or footage that I can preview on the camera does not show up on the app. Similarly when plugged into the computer through the cable it says footage is unavailable.

It only holds a full battery for 30 minutes it’s constantly over heating. I bought for fishing videos but it’s constantly glitching the videos to hold a charge I have to start recording once the fish is already on the line and defeats half the purpose I wish it just had battery’s instead of being rechargeable the video when not glitching have great quality and great sound
