A: The base does not get hot. The middle of the base has a connection to the kettle that initiates the heating process. It is safe to keep the base plugged.

A: You should only boil water in the kettle. Do not add milk, tea or coffee to the kettle. Only water should be heated in the kettle, any other items you try to heat in the kettle may damage it and will void the warranty.

A: The Heritage kettle does not allow you control the temperature. The Dorset kettle has a temperature dial so you can stop the boiling when it reaches the temperature you want.

Q: Is the 75012 Haden tea kettle different from the other that does not say auto shut off? My daughter has the one that does not say anything about auto shut off and she is telling me it does shut off.

A: The kettle has a round base that is sits on to heat. The base has the cord that plugs into the wall. The kettle lifts off the base for use.

This tea kettle is used for a lot in my house. Hot chocolate,tea oatmeal, noodles, etc. I love that its got a lever you puah down that starts it. It stops when shut off. Also makes much easier foe those who forget. It shuts off alone so no more forgetting. Its also cordless. The only thing you plug in is the base.

Boiled plastic
Very disappointed into the amount of plastic on the INSIDE of the kettle. The plastic is submerged in the hot water. For such an expensive kettle, I did not expect such poor construction. The plastic around the scale filter and the entire plastic water level window need to be replaced with metal and glass. Plastic is unacceptable to be used in contact with hot items intended for consumption. I would expect better quality from even a much cheaper kettle.

Handle design is strange and doesn’t feel comfortable to use. The handle being on top as opposed to the side means steam comes up and can get your hand if you’re not careful. The copper on the handle and the lid are two different tones. Very weird.

Love my tea kettle
This is a really nice stainless steel tea maker. I love the vintage but modern look on it. My son is obsessed with teas and having to use microwave was becoming annoying. So I was in search of a tea kettle. And if electric it was it would fit me best. I love this tea kettle. I appreciate it has extra removable filter. It has a base that heats to 360 and boils real quick. I have tea in minutes for my family and myself. I like the indicator as well to let you know when is boiling and it can make 6 cups of tea in 1 go. What else can you ask for. Amazing.

Gorgeous addition to my kitchen
I love this kettle! First and foremost the aesthetic is gorgeous. It isn’t very loud, it heats water up very quick and the water gauge allows for easy fill up. It also holds a lot more water than the kettle I was using previously so I don’t have to fill it as often. The one thing I didn’t like was how hot the handle got. I wish there was a handle that I could hold without using a pot holder.
