Summary of reviews
This game offers a unique twist on the classic Life game, featuring a Target-themed shopping experience. Guests appreciate the adorable design and the educational aspect of managing a budget. However, the game is noted for its complexity, requiring significant pre-game learning and setup time. While some find it engaging and fun, others feel it is overly complicated and not as enjoyable as the original Life game.

PRO: Super FUN to pretend you are managing a budget a shopping list at trendy Target! As always, excellent durable quality from this toy brand. Full game board size - folded in half! - not folded in quarters (yes it saves space but the creases are annoying). CON: ALOT of pre-game learning is required. This cannot be skipped bc it is much more involved than the normal LIFE version. 3 stars on age appeal bc of the lengthy learning time in order to play. 3 stars on length of play bc it can be too long of a time for younger elementary age players.

We received this as a gift and played last night. Absolutely loved it! Instead of collecting children and life tiles you get to run around target collecting the items on your shopping list. But watch out for those impulse buys! Such a cute design and lead to many jokes and fun moments reminiscing about our real-life target runs.

Overly complicated, poorly designed. The game has a ton of pieces that take quite a while to sort and set up on the board. Then each player receives a card that tracks their budget and you are supposed to track every time you earn money on the card. This is a terrible design because the token got bumped several times during play so we had no idea how much money we should be at. There are far too many elements to the game to keep up with. The directions do not make it clear on how certain parts of the game should go so we had to just make it up. Then when you complete your shopping order you go to check out-but the people who haven't checked outnyet or completed their shopping continue playing. This left several players just waiting while the last person had to basically play alone. I am so disappointed because I thought the game was going to be similar to the game of life. They are not the same at all.

This was really complicated and not a well executed, thought out game. Directions are pretty vague. There was plenty of times throughout playing that we had to decide on our own what to do because directions were not clear. I thought this would resemble the game of life more but it’s pretty different. We felt more annoyed than we did having fun playing it. Everyone dropped out of playing not too long in. The only one who seemed to enjoy it was my 7 year old but she didn’t really get what was going on lol.

This is so stupid. Accidentally added to my cart thinking it was Life. It’s like a crappy version of Mall Madness. Has NOTHING to do with the original game. So so so bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh my goodness, this is seriously one of the cutest games I’ve ever seen. So much thought and effort went into the design of this game - from the mini shopping cart game pieces, to the red card discounts, and actual red cards. My family really enjoyed this game. Lots of fun and entertainment. The only thing that would really top it off would be a register shaped calculator that can be used to total at the conclusion of the game.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved the idea of this game and it looks adorable, but the rules were very complicated for ages 8+. I even needed to keep the instructions next to me at all times to remind us all of each game square or card.

This was probably one of the worst games I’ve ever played, if not the worst. There are so many unnecessary components to the game, and you spend more time reading the instructions than actually playing. I don’t think the game makers truly played through this game before releasing it, because it is seriously so confusing. If the makers are gonna categorize it as another version of the Game of Life, then it should at least resemble it A LITTLE. I do not recommend this game unless you want to be bored the entire time!!

It’s very loosely based on the original game of life, but it’s soooo cute for target lovers. It’s not hard to grasp if you read the directions. However, there are sooo many pieces and the box has no way to organize them. Still super cute and super fun.

This is definitely not your original game of Life by any means. This is Targets version of the game and yeah, it can be a bit confusing the first few times you play it, but what game doesn’t need instructions the first time it’s played? We’ve played with our 2 kids, 10 and 6 years old and end up liking the game more every time we play. I love any game that gets kids learning without them even realizing it, all the money that’s part of every step of the game with coupons and discounts and so many ways to earn and spend, it’s constant counting, adding, subtracting and learning with money. I think Targets version of this game turned out very cute and love all the little ways they get their brand in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a fun game! I'm a huge Life game fan to begin with have probably 4 different types of Life games now so was super excited for this and I was not disappointed! I loved that it was different from previous versions and liked the differences! I'd highly recommend for a good game night!
Nothing like the original.

This is the most confusing game on earth. You need the instructions the entire time. For sure not for kids and even adults beware.
I'mlooking forward to playing again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I played the game with my daughters and I enjoyed it. It was easier learning to play this than the monopoly target game. It's a cute game and different from the regular game of life. In the target edition you are shopping for an event - like a summer bbq - and the goal is to stay on budget. Just like in real life you might end up spending more than you intended. The goal at the end is to be the one who spent the least.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The graphics are fantastic, and the overall design creates an immersive gaming experience. What I love most is the way it keeps everyone engaged and on their toes. Sure, there was a bit of a learning curve, but once we got into the groove, it became our go-to board game. Playing with friends just makes it all the more enjoyable, and I can't recommend it enough for a fun and lively game night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the idea of this edition of Life, but it just simply wasn’t fun. I was very disappointed to the point we stopped playing about halfway through. I wish they would have made a more appropriate edition for LIFE.

I’ll be honest—I wasn’t expecting to like this. I realized bought the wrong version of Life, but my son insisted we open it and get rather than returning it. We played as a family three times yesterday and had a blast. Really enjoyed the concept; loved that it was Target themed, and it actually made my husband and I laugh a little. Will continue to enjoy with the kids.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up playing the typical Game of Life so I was happy to try a new version of it. Well this game is quite complicated and not really fun to play. It felt like we spent more time looking at the guide than playing the game.
