Herdez Salsa Verde 16oz: Mild Spice

Love this salsa verde. Good flavor and not spicy!

Now, and this is true of the last three or four bottles I've bought, this is so hot I literally cannot eat it. It turns my lips inside out! It makes me sweat! I have tried mixing it with canned tomatoes but that doesn't help at all when I bite into one of the peppers and this salsa. And then today I put some of my diluted salsa on top of a quesadilla and ate it for lunch and all afternoon I have had terrible stomach pain. I've learned that kept some levels in peppers can increase during times of higher heat and drought. So it's possible that the normal peppers that Herdez uses are just hotter. But why aren't they testing their salsas for Scoville levels? Some of us are really sensitive to very hot peppers and we rely on suppliers who rate their salsas as mild to provide mild salsas! It is possible to test that heat level of peppers before manufacturing and Herdez should be doing this and it's obviously not.

This jar version of Herdez is Okay. But the Canned version is excellent. A little spicey but a lot more flavor. We always keep multiple cans on hand.

This is good stuff, don't listen to the people who say it's not mild, they need a grow a pair. I wish they made it in hot... The best part about this sauce is that it has NO ADDED SUGAR! Old El Paso, Taco Bell, they all have SUGAR in their salsas. Why?? But not this stuff. This is the good stuff.

I use this mild salsa casera for my self. The jar is too much for just one person. An 8 oz. jar or perhaps foil packets containing 4 oz. each in a box would save SO MUCH waste! I hope you seriously consider my suggestion. Thank you!

I was confused to see the once vibrant, green delicious salsa is now grayish and flat in color, it has no flavor, and it is no longer mild. From what I'm reading, the product has been changed.

The last time I purchased Herdez Mild chile Verde sauce I got the half gallon it's just that good.

This salsa is watery and flavorless.

put it in tuna fish, sardines, and put in cottage cheese, it gives cottage cheese a nice tang

tastes great, like homemade jarred salsa, no overbearing vinegar taste.

I bought this salsa twice and 6 months and it is nothing but thin watery tomato paste hardly any substance makes sense for which people like it so much.

Great substitute for when I don’t want to make it homemade freshly!

This adds a spice of flavor to home made chicken soup.

I use to buy the mild version because my stomach can not handle spicy foods. I loved the taste of the old version but evidently you have changed the recipe and it is now too spicy. If I eat this, I might as well buy the medium heat, which I won't be doing either.

I just recently discovered salsa verde, so I'm not an expert. I mostly use it in a new favorite chicken salsa verde soup which the base is the entire jar of salsa and chicken broth so the salsa plays a starring role. This soup has been a hit, and I find myself buying multiple jars of this jar. It is now a pantry staple.

I bought the mild due to my GI issues, but it was not mild at all. It was so hot that I suspect it was labeled incorrectly. I hope Herdez beefs up their quality control.
