A: It looks like maybe a "watered down" version that was made into a board game. But from the pictures you probably can use the forums and possibly the website they provide. Have you played other stories before? I'm on curtain call right now and there is that one website they give you in the welcome letter, then subsequent passwords to each new box (or in this case maybe everything is already there) where they give you new clues not in the box, or clues written if you can't read the letters, or need something to help with clues? I am literally just speculating right now. Anything else you are thinking it could be?
submitted bycitylove712 - 4 years agoA: Yes, this is a one time game. Once you play, you know the answer. However, nothing in the game gets destroyed so you’re able to give it to someone else for them to play or play with a different group.
submitted byBrand - 4 years agoA: Their other boxes are only playable once so I assume this one is, however, there are a lot of clues you have to solve so it does take quite a while to finish the game and there are a lot of ciphers so you could try to space it out to play several times.

The official age recommendation is 14+. There are no gory, bloody, or explicit materials in this game. We've seen many people play it with their teens and preteens. They would certainly need help on some of the puzzles and connecting the content.

Really good materials. Very believable clues and characters. Love that it had a lock pouch that you had to decode a cypher to open. It took 4 of us about 2 hours to solve and we were able to get the right suspect. Highly recommend. Can't wait to play another Hunt A Killer game. Definitely worth the price even though you can only play it once - you can rebox it and pass it to a friend!

The locked pouch that comes with it was literally on the correct code and open when we got it. Box was sealed so not like someone played it. Legit ruins the game all together.

no spoilers here! love the concept of this game series, as someone who is obsessed with learning about true crime stories. everything in the box was authentic and can even be used as souvenirs if you have a cinema wall or something similar. took 1 star away bc like another reviewer mentioned the answer was a bit too simple.

Loved this game, it was our first HAK mystery and a perfect introduction to this genre of game. It provides a decent game flow. The story makes sense and is easy to piece together. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt like it was almost too easy. We were able to eliminate suspects almost instantly and started overthinking things.

This was a fun game! My mom and I completed it in under an hour. It’s fairly easy (we were actually overthinking it here and there) so I think the whole family could participate. So long as you keep notes on a separate paper, the game can be reused for others!

Maybe we're jaded but I don't think so. This was WAY too easy. What we really disliked were the cyphers. They took up most of the time we spent playing. I don't consider solving a cypher the same as solving a "mystery". It was like they said ok, this evidence stuff is too much work, let's just put three cyphers in here to take up time. We had hopes of passing this around to family members but quite honestly we decided not to because it would just be a waste of their time. Too bad really, we were really looking forward to playing.
