Hunt A Killer x Sam and Colby: The Haunting at Wicker Ridge Board Game

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took me a while to complete this review because it was tough finding people who would play and stick with it. First attempt my boyfriend bailed during the first few minutes. I tried again with a group of friends and we at did get through to solving the mystery! Great concept, high quality pieces and sturdy packaging. I liked the variety of game components from the online videos to physical tools to realistic looking documents. Really well done. Where we got tripped up even the 2nd time was on the lengthy intro information. There was a ton of pre-reading, so you really have to do this with a group of people who are fully committed, open minded, patient, willing to get a little lost, and into puzzles like escape rooms. The game is rated “easy” on the box and they did have multiple ways to get to the answer, but it still took us about an hour and some hints. It’s set up as a single use game, but you could feasibly use it more than once. Cool concept, would be fun for a dinner party or family holiday!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box comes with lots of cool props and and “evidence” for playing. Although The ghost communication box it comes with doesnt seem to really work at all, Me and my friends attempted just a casual play-through of it without really paying the most attention. There doesnt seem to be much for instructions, so it was kind of a struggle to really get anywhere. Not to mention the only way to confirm if you beat the game or not is by going to a website in one of the papers, which i could not get to work. my phone just kept pulling up a page not found. It also seems like theres not much, if any replay-ability. In the end we never ended up even finishing the game so i guess replaying isnt really a concern. Overall i think there are some cool concepts, like the newspaper/magazine page cutouts, photographs etc. even the online aspect of it has some potential to add to the game. But its all executed so poorly and with little to no re playability, its just no where near as good as it could be. Im sure someone could figure it out and have fun with it but i just wasn’t able to

At first my teen daughter and I found the game challenging but then we got put our investigation skills to it. Our favorite part was the diary and the ghost comm box. If you don’t like to read you might not enjoy this investigation game. You have to watch the videos for clues and they really bring the paranormal experience to the game. The only complaint was understanding the cursive writing in the diary. While you could play with more players I personally found it more enjoyable with just one player. I think of course if you’re a Sam & Colby fan you’ll really enjoy this exclusive game but it’s fun for anyone. I had a really fun experience playing it. In all it’s an exciting & fun game. While this mystery wasn't overly difficult to solve, it was a fun hour if family time trying to figure it out! The board was very sturdy and directions were easy to follow. Looking forward to buying others for family game night!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my girlfriend and me to play together, and it turned out to be a really fun experience. The materials are high quality and very immersive—it actually feels like you’re investigating a real case. We took our time and dove deep into the clues, so it took us longer than the estimated 90–120 minutes, but that just made the experience last longer and more enjoyable.

We had to wait to play it as some of the evidence wasn’t available online when we first got it. Once we did it was fu, suspenseful, and good scary. We can’t wait to play it more by Halloween.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I played this game with relatives ranging in age from 10 to 65. We all had fun solving the mystery.. I think it would be best for preteens and younger teenagers. I liked the packaging and the items in the box, as well as, the online resources. The speaker didn’t seem to work- it just sounded like ticking.. I’m not sure what it would’ve added to the game. After, I tried to remove the battery and replace it to see if I could reset it, but it did the same thing. The red plastic part of the planchette also broke off in the box. While we did guess the correct answer, I feel like we were missing some things that connected the answer to the story. I would’ve liked this game much more if it was re-usable and/or had different scenarios.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So at first this was amazing! I loved how I really did not have much direction in what to do. I just needed to read everything and take notes. Then, the directions told me if I was lost I should scan a code and go to the website. First of all, this game does not exist on their website. It brings me to an error page. So I couldn't continue the game. That is why 3 stars. If they can fix this, then I will give 5 stars.

Very cool game kept us busy for about two hours, comes with a lot of cool pieces very well built & instructions were very easy to read $ understand .

I like how if you get stuck you can get hints online. A con to this game is that you can only solve the case once. It can be something that you can play by yourself or with a group. The fact that you can gift it makes more valuable than a typical game.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hunt a Killer , the haunting at Wicker ridge by Sam and coby is a nice board game to play with the family. Using clues on your phone and on paper is fun. The board game is pretty thick and durable as well. Hours of fun .

The scent is good I suppose lol and it’s very effective. Great packaging and I think overall, it’s an amazing value. Durable box/cards. Can’t wait to play more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hunt a killer is a fun and interesting game. It’s nothing like I’ve ever played. The packaging is neat, organized and seems like it will last awhile. No scent. Effective for game play
