Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

A: Unfortunately not. The DXR-8 PRO is using a different platform and can't work with the DXR-8 addon camera.

Great Customer Service
This monitor has been wonderful!! We are especially appreciative of the customer service and highly recommend this company! We had an issue with our monitor no longer holding a charge without being plugged up. Emma C was able to help us troubleshoot our monitor. When those methods did not work, she was able to help us get a replacement for ours. The new monitor works as it should and we are so thankful for her and her timely response.

Excellent Customer Support - They Stand Behind Their Products
After a few months of use we ran into a hardware issue with the ac cord no longer being able to plug into the camera unit. I was really bummed out, but decided to reach out to Infant Optics customer service for help. I was pleasantly surprised to get a reply back from an actual person within 24 hours. They quickly sent me a new camera free of charge to replace our faulty unit. Our experience with Infant Optics has been so positive that we decided to buy a second DXR-8 Pro to keep at my parents house and for traveling. I highly recommend this brand. It may be more expensive than competitors like VTech, but you get what you pay for: high quality parts, easy out-of-the-box functionality, and customer support that genuinely cares and stands behind their product!

Dont buy
Bought because it does not use wifi and it had good reviews. However, I wish I kept the box to send back. The glare on the screen is awful. During the day you can’t see the baby well. But the worst part, I have the lens on that it came with, I had to buy a stand for it with a long arm because even with that stand it is VERY zoomed in. Yes, I have made sure I’m zoomed all the way out. Unless I attach the camera close to the ceiling (no lie) you can’t only see a very small portion of the crib. I have tried to troubleshoot this but it looks like I’d maybe need to buy a different lens for it to be zoomed out. It doesn’t come with a wide angle lens. I’d only recommend buying this if you want either super zoomed in or if you’re ok with mounting it close to the ceiling to see even half the crib.

Quality Product. Zero regrets, would buy again and recommend!
Great image - daylight and especially nightvision. love the zoom. Great sound and visual sound indicator. No Internet Connection!!! Security is important to us. Great range (no dead spots in a split level home, and decent range outside in the yards) Pretty good ANR ( filtering out e.g. the white noise machine) Can be a little weird and occasionally override baby noises, we tend to turn it off and deal with the wooshing. Seamless multiple camera support Surprisingly good battery life of the monitor Super easy to install and move Virtually noiseless remote adjustable positioning Fabulously long power cables that are labeled! *Amazing* customer service. We purchased an extra camera which started to fail. The support team got back to us so quickly and professionally to diagnose and send us a replacement. It's clear they stand behind their products. Been using about 4 months - I really have no complaints. I think it's a product that's really been thought through on how it's used, and is definitely worth it.

Monitors stop turning on
The actual camera is great. However, we have now been through three monitors. They just stop turning on. They also die incredibly fast, not even making it a whole night. These monitors aren’t cheap and to have to have replaced it three times in 4 years is ridculous.

Monitor broke right after the warranty expired. it only functions if the power button is continuously held down. This is a known issue with the monitor and Infant Optics refuses to provide it's customers a replacement or a fix. The customer service team is awful. It's just two people working from a house in San Fransisco. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's true. You will not get help from these people. I've been without a monitor for two weeks waiting for them to make a decision on a replacement.

Excellent Customer Service
Our monitor display stopped working and customer service worked very quickly to replace the unit. I'm so happy with this product after having used other brands. The more expensive brands that connect to your phone are nice, but you have to keep your phone on all the time. The cheaper brands definitely break more easily and don't have easily-removable batteries, as well as customer service that's impossible to get through to + confusing firmware issues. I can't stress how much we like this monitor. The ANR feature also is nice if you use a sound machine. It was very easy to pair the replacement unit with our existing camera. Picture is clear, and rotating the camera is easy.

This monitor is not durable. We dropped it once (not from a high distance) and ever since the monitor will only turn on if it’s plugged in. The second we unplug the screen turns black. If I had the choice, I would not purchase it again.

A great baby monitor! We love that it doesn’t use wifi and it has been super easy to use for us! On par with how great the camera is, the company’s customer service is top notch. We were having issues with our camera at first and after chatting with Kristine at Infant Optics, we had a replacement camera within a week! Such a great help and we really appreciated the support.

Love that this monitor doesn't require wifi! It's very easy to use and set up. It works great even with our white noise running right next to the camera in his room. The bluetooth/distance works great everywhere in our house (have had no issues with connectivity. The camera quality is great, of note it is black and white in the dark and color in the light! I never need to charge during his day naps and I just leave it plugged in and on all night on my night stand. My cousin likes it for both of her kids with two cameras as well! We had an issue where the keypad stopped working on the handheld monitor and customer service was so easy and quick to give us a replacement! I would recommend this product to any new parent!!

Love this monitor! My favorite things: 1) ANR feature provides clear sound when my baby cries or makes noise but filters out all background noise including the sound machine which is SO nice. 2) Dedicated volume and brightness buttons on the top. This seems like such a simple obvious design, but I haven’t come across any other monitor with this. I have to change the volume and brightness a lot throughout the day and night and most monitors have it buried three levels deep in the menu, so this was a big selling point for me. 3) Picture quality is fantastic and the bonus zoom lens is great. 4) Sound quality is the best I’ve heard, a smooth pleasant tone compared to others I’ve used. 5) LED sound-indicator lights are nice color and placement. 6) The menu is intuitive and has everything I need. 7) The stand on the back is so much better than the little flap that most others have. 8) No problems with connection or range and don’t have to worry about WiFi or losing connection. I only have ONE COMPLAINT and that’s the battery; it dies pretty fast, so I leave it plugged in overnight and off the charger during the day. Overall very pleased with this monitor and recommend it!

It's a yes for me
With all the scary instances of wifi baby monitors being hacked I knew having a wifi free monitor was a must. I received this unit for my baby shower and have absolutely loved it! It's great quality and very user friendly. A few weeks ago it started having a weird issue with the buttons so I reached out to customer support. They were extremely quick to reach out and help me troubleshoot the issue. And even though my unit was past the one year warranty they sent me a new battery to replace what we thought to be a faulty one. Emma C was an absolute jem and was so helpful the entire process. 10/10 would purchase again and again!

Amazing customer service from Emma C
I have tried multiple cameras for the nursery and this is definitely THE ONE. I did have some trouble with the image on the monitor being very unclear, so I had reached out to Infant Optics customer support and Emma C was so quick to help! Emma was patient and thorough. After instructing me on some troubleshooting, Emma ended up sending me a new camera and bettery, and I mailed back the old one. It arrived so quickly and the new camera worked perfectly! The image on the monitor is so crisp and clear. I love the ability to move the camera by using the keys on the monitor, and the zoom feature is also helpful. The ASMR feature is nice, but I do not often need to use it as the sound is already so clear and I can easily hear my baby. I have already recommended this camera to multiple friends, but now I recommend it even more highly as the customer service of Infant Optics is top notch! I never expected such quick help these days. I used this camera/monitor for both my kids. I love it. Also, I am extremely impressed w the company’s customer service. When I had an issue, not only did customer service end up sending me a new camera, they followed up with me via email to ask if the issue had been resolved and always responded promptly and helpfully. Great Camera and Great Customer Service
Camera is simple, easy to use and the image is great but their customer service is even greater! I was having an issue with the sound on my monitor so I contacted customer support and Dominic V. tried to help me trouble shoot. When none of that worked long term we looked into my 12 month warranty. This was a gift off of my registry just over a year ago which meant I technically wasn’t eligible but Dominic V. went above and beyond and still honored my warranty and shipped me a replacement asap. I am very grateful!
