  • A: Good until it quits working after 6 months.

submitted byBlaze - 5 years ago
  • A: Night vision feature is really good. Our baby is four months and we’ve had zero issues with it.

    submitted byOsu123 - 6 years ago

Q: Can you link the video feed from this camera to an app on your phone?

submitted by Courtney h - 7 years ago
  • A: I have this product and I’m not aware of an app for the baby monitor.

    submitted byOsu123 - 6 years ago
  • A: no you cannot. it is a wifi free unit and only reports to the receiver

submitted bymsaunders - 2 years ago
  • A: Not that I know of. You should contact company to see

submitted byMrs - 7 years ago

Q: Is it true that when u register it you get a free extra camera??

submitted by Beth - 7 years ago
  • A: This should be a tell-tale sign that they are boosting reviews immediately after purchase because if you've owned it for longer than 6 months, its garbage.

submitted byBlaze - 5 years ago
  • A: I received this from my registry, and I only got the one.

submitted byHoosierMama - 7 years ago
  • A: I received one if I completed a review. It is super great having 2 once the baby started moving around in the crib

Q: Does this monitor have sound? First-time, soon-to-be mommy here and worried that we won't be able to hear baby with this monitor. Thanks in advance for your help!

submitted by KristinaJ - 6 years ago
  • A: Yes it has sound. You can hear everything with this monitor. It has several volume settings, but we just keep it on the highest setting. I can hear perfectly when our baby moves, etc. Its a good camera.

    submitted byOsu123 - 6 years ago
  • A: You can hear well. However, the microphone has a constant white noise sound you hear from the monitor side. It is way louder than your children and drowns them out. It's awful. I wish they would get a better speaker that only pics up your children! Huge flaw

submitted byMjheat - 3 years ago

Q: Does this have a function where you can turn screen off and use it as an audio monitor?

submitted by swimlat - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, there’s a button on top of the baby monitor to turn the screen off but keep the audio on. It saves about 50% of the battery.

    submitted byOsu123 - 6 years ago
  • A: They do have a sleep mode, you can short press the power on/off/sleep button to turn the LCD screen off while keeping the audio on.

Q: I am not sure what type of battery this includes, bought as a gift and want to take it on an airplane. Will I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS HAVING THIS IN MY BAG?

BUYER BEWARE

I have only had this monitor for 8 months and it is already broken, the sound has stopped working. I called customer sevice twice for trouble shooting and still no luck fixing it. The company refuses to replace it because I used a visa gift card to purchase it and no longer have the receipt since it wasnt attached to my target app. I wasnt impressed by the quality anyways even though I did extensive research to find "the best" monitor for my baby. I ended up going with a Vtech monitor and I love it, the quality is much better. If you do decide to buy it keep your receipt and buy the protection plan from Target so you dont end up like me, out over $265 now.

Not worth the price

3 out of 5 stars
Samantha - 18 days ago
I personally don’t feel like the quality of this camera is worth the price. I purchased this camera because my vtech kept having connection issues. Otherwise I would have much rather stayed with vtech because the picture clarity is better and their camera has a bit more features. This honestly feels more cheaply made in my opinion.

Stopped working after 1.5 years

Morgan s - 1 month ago
When I reached out to their customer service they would only give us a discount on a new one, but refused to replace it. I will also note that the battery started dying very quickly after less than a year of use and had to be plugged in most of the time. We have now switched to hello baby, which is almost half the price, has a larger screen, better image quality and comes with two cameras.

After two weeks of use, the handheld monitor only works when plugged in. Even if plugged in all night, it will die the second you unplug it.

Do not purchase - not built to last more than one year

1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
Lydia - 2 months ago
This product is not built to last. At $200, this product should last well beyond one year of use. I received this product as a baby gift off my registry in April of 2023 and opened it three months later when my son was born in July. This week it stopped working with no rhyme or reason. The troubleshooting offered by the company did not work and I purchased a new battery, which was also unsuccessful. Infant Optics refused to offer a replacement due to the fact that it is a few months out of the “one year warranty period,” despite not even opening the box for the first three months I owned it. The company’s only solution is to offer me a small discount for me to purchase a new monitor through them. There are plenty of other reputable and reliable brands of monitors that are built to last beyond one year. If you have $200 to spend every few months, Infant Optics may be the brand for you. If not, I strongly recommend choosing any other company for your baby monitor.

For the price of this monitor I was very disappointed. The connection is not good at all and we have a tiny house. Super frustrated because I was so excited about this and had heard good things. Save your money and get a different monitor

Signal loss

Mandy - 4 months ago
This monitor has the weakest signal. It wasn't great even when we first started using it, but it gets worse every day. It will randomly cut off and say signal loss in our super small house. You can be only 10 feet from the door. Happens more and more all the time. Don't waste your money on this brand.

Ruth - 5 months ago
I’m on my third infant optics monitor in 5 years. They barely make it past the 1 year mark before breaking in one way or another. No wonder they only have a one year warranty. I stupidly kept buying new monitor units since the actual cameras still work. Be smart from the beginning and do NOT buy this monitor at all.

Not worth the $, just buy the DXR-8 Pro

3 out of 5 stars

A - 5 months ago
After upgrading to the DXR-8 Pro I can definitely say - if you can splurge the extra 50 ish bucks, do it! This camera works for what it is but by the time we upgraded the antenna was falling apart, it was constantly losing connection and both charging cords were completely busted. The price difference between the two isn’t astronomical and this camera is completely bare bones compared to the pro.

Love our monitor. Had it for over 3 years now. Bought an add on additional camera when we had our second child. Had to get a replacement monitor and camera though as both stopped working. Could be from dropping too many times. However customer service was helpful and super responsive. I was out of warranty and received a 50% discount on monitor replacement and a received the camera replacement for free! Really considerate representatives who followed up as well to ensure everything was working. Fast shipping of replacement as well! Couldn’t be more pleased

Not Worth the Money - lasts about a year

Ridiculous price for what it is! Super basic monitor, charge lasts about 3 hours. Picture and audio are semi clear, nothing great. After 14 months (conveniently just outside the warranty period), the microphone on the camera went out so it’s useless. Can’t believe how much I paid for this looking back… there are much cheaper options on Amazon that have all the same features. Would not recommend.

After 1 year, wouldn’t hold a charge. Changed out the charger, that worked for a few more months, now it will not hold a charge at all, has to be plugged in a certain way or just constantly shuts up. Buying a different brand and will never use this brand again.

Monitor Stopped Working

Monitor Stopped Working - 6 months ago
I received this monitor from my Baby Registry & loved this monitor for a long time. I even bought a second camera for my next child. Unfortunately, after 3 years the monitor just stopped working. The screen is completely black, won't turn on. I even tried a replacement battery & it still will not work. I contacted customer service & they said that the warranty is only good for 1 year & that I can't get a replacment. I feel that for the cost of this product & buying another camera, a 1 year warranty isn't adequate. The replacment cost for a monitor is $99, which is also very expensive. With the amount of money I've already put in, I will not be buying another replacement monitor in fear that it could just stop working again.

Our monitor has worked fine for almost a year when the audio quit working. However, I emailed the customer service team for Infant Optics and Gladys and team were extremely helpful. They are very responsive and even followed up with me after receiving my new monitor from the warranty we had. For the price, quality, and customer service — you cannot beat this one.
