  • A: It offers that, however that feature doesn’t even work. All videos get completely deleted or if they are there, when you try to watch them they say “playback error.” So I would say no, it doesn’t record or save for review. Would not recommend

Terrible monitor

This is a terrible monitor. Keeps disconnecting from the app, so you have to sign back in all the time. The only way you can sign in is scanning the QR code on the parent unit, so when I’m at work and get disconnected, nothing I can do about it. One of the features is it records movement. But it either completely deletes all the videos or if they are there, it says “playback error” This monitor would be great if the features worked correctly. But being as they don’t, it defeats the whole purpose of getting a monitor that records the baby’s movement and having the app.

Battery Shot

The battery for this died with less than a year of use. There is no option to replace the battery in the parent unit. No option to replace just the parent unit. The one year warranty goes off date of purchase which is useless since most baby items are bought prior to LO arrival. Shame since it was such a nice unit prior to the battery dying completely.

Product only lasted a year and night mode no longer works so you can't see your child at night at all. Vtech would not help me at all other than a discount code of 15% to buy a new device. Not happening. Save your money and go with something else. This product sucks.

Worked for about 6 months and just stopped working. Tried resetting it and the camera wouldn’t connect to wifi anymore. Worked great while it lasted but I’d look for something else other than this product…which now we’ll have to do. Disappointed.

I liked this set for all the features, but it officially died in the middle of the night last night. I was never able to connect the camera to my phone. The screen started developing lines after about 3mo of use, but they were just on the edge, so they didn’t bother me too much. But it was a sign of the lack of quality with this set. There are less expensive versions with the same features - I will be buying one today. You don’t get what you pay for with this brand, it seems.

Worst monitor ever. I did a bunch of research and settled on this one. The camera only stayed connected to WiFi for 20 minutes then you have to go in and push the reset button. So pointless!! Why even have a monitor if you have to go in the room every 20 minutes. Store wouldn’t take back an open box and was never able to contact customer support. Horrible service and product!

Too Quiet to Use

The feedback is way too quiet. If your baby is screaming, this works just fine. But it will not pick up any softer noises such as spitting up, rustling, cooing, etc. As new parents with a newborn, we bought a monitor to provide peace of mind in case our baby had some sort of accident or mishap while sleeping. However, these softer noises are not picked up by the mic at all and are missed entirely. Basically, unless your baby is having a total top-of-their lungs meltdown, this monitor is useless. While the pan/tilt/zoom camera is nice, the awful microphone makes this a sorry purchase. Even the old-school cameraless monitors did a better job with noise than this expensive garbage. Very disappointed.

Doesn't last - do not buy

Product was good to begin with. After a year, functionality on the mobile app stopped working. No biggie, I'll just continue to use the parent unit. Now, after working for almost 21 months with minor issues the parent unit will not baby unit. Contacted Vtech support and after running through all the troubleshooting steps they declared the unit as malfunctioning and offered a 15% coupon for a new unit. With that coupon a new purchase would still be more money than the original purchase. And why on earth would I buy anything else from this company if I know it won't last? I should have listened to the other reviews and avoided this purchase so please do yourself a favor and listen to this one - do not buy.

I have been through two of these! And both have just randomly stopped working after a little over a month. The baby monitor refuses to connect to the camera even when they are sitting right next to eachother! If I could give zero stars I would. Save your money and do not buy an vtech baby monitors.

Extremely unsatisfied, doesn’t connect

Disappointed buyer - 9 months ago
I bought this baby monitor and was great until it stop working about a month after we started using it. It gets disconnected every time a few minutes after turn on. Tried every trick and suggestions that vtech support and the internet recommended and nothing worked. I have to say also that the support is very poor and didn’t give me a solution to refund. I got it when I was pregnant and they say the warranty expired. Other brands would have refund but this one wants a return and replace, even though I said I don’t want another one that will also fail, as I’ve seeing from other parents reviews. DON’T BUY IT!

Great until its not

Contrary to these reviews, we’ve never had connection issues and we think the video quality is good (most times). We loved it at first but then it randomly went downhill one day. The camera started doing this strange thing where it would flash in/out. It’s like you’re watching your baby in a rave. It happens all day long and nothing in the camera’s environment has changed. We haven’t touched it since it’s been installed so we are baffled over the issue. This is our second time purchasing this product. The first time, we exchanged it because the volume buttons weren’t working. Now it’s this “flashing” issue plus we have to press the volume down button with force. I’m not sure why the buttons are such a thing with these.. I’ve emailed VTech and they asked me to send photos of the monitor/camera and asked me to answer some questions. I haven’t heard back from them since (it’s been a week and a half). If you are blessed enough to invest in something better, then please do so and and save yourself the headache.
