Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

  • A: Unfortunately not. The DXR-8 PRO is using a different platform and can't work with the DXR-8 addon camera.

    Do not spend $200 on this! It’s a piece of crap; the monitor stopped working after 1 week, it will not stay on unless it is plugged in! I called customer service & they refuse to replace it bc I don’t have the date of when it was purchased!! It was a gift, no I don’t have a gift receipt & unfortunately the buyer did not scan it at target as being purchased on my baby registry! I’m warning you purchase at your own will!!

    There are great features with this monitor, we love the fact it works without wifi connection, the feedback from the cameras are almost instant, you can add up to 4 cameras to one monitor, etc. it works really well for what we need it for! We did run into an issue with our monitor not charging unless it was plugged in a very specific way and you couldn’t move it or else a train horn noise would start sounding. It was very odd, we reached out to customer service and Kristine promptly offered troubleshooting steps and when they didn’t work, she sent us out a brand new monitor unit that arrived 2 days later. The speed and kindness was extremely appreciated and we are so happy to report that it is working perfectly!

    I do have to say, I love the camera quality and even better that it doesn’t require wifi. The only thing that I truly hate is the BATTERY life, it’s extremely horrible. I have to constantly charge it but even at full battery, it lasts a little over an hour then starts dying again.

    The product itself is great! The picture quality, range, ANR functions and usability cannot be beat. The customer service team is just as great. I ran into an issue with the power button, reached out the the CS team and received a response in minutes. In fact they emailed me as a followup when I did not respond within a few hours asking for an update on the troubleshooting tactics I was trying. When all matters were tested without solve they issued me a new monitor at night and it was on my doorstep the next day. This is a great brand and the team is top notch as well.

    The monitor is fantastic! The video quality is great and we can see the baby so clearly. The monitor is also really sturdy, It has fallen off the table several times (oops!) and not a scratch or issue with the device whatsoever. What I really want to rave about is their customer service. Our monitor stopped working even after troubleshooting with custormer service. I was really disappointed because we have a friend who has an older model and hers has been going strong for 5+ years! We were a couple months past warranty and I expressed my disappointment to customer service. They agreed to replace the monitor! I was so impressed with their kindness, generosity and responsiveness. The monitor is back to working perfectly. I am confident that it will last a long time.

    When we first bought it from Target, the monitor constantly said out of range and online would only say to remove smartphones or TVs from the path. We were ready to give up until we reached out to customer service. Within a couple messages, they knew the problem was the camera and not location. They shipped a new camera that arrived next day and it has been working PERFECTLY ever since!! I mean we can see him breathing the camera quality is so great. I wish I had bought this camera from the beginning

    After using this monitor every day multiple times a day for almost 2 years, the monitor would no longer work properly unless plugged into the charger. I emailed customer service and although I was well past the warranty date customer service was extremely helpful and sent me a brand new device and charger the next day. With a second child on the way this truly saved us from having to purchase a brand new device. The camera is extremely easy to connect to the monitor and the screen provides an excellent image. It is also easy to connect the monitor to multiple cameras and will automatically rotate from one camera to the other consistently for those who have (or are planning to have) multiple children. I would highly recommend this product to anyone having a newborn or anyone looking for an upgraded monitor.

    This product is a disaster - do not buy it. From the first time I took it out of the box, it frequently refuses to turn on. You have to manually take off the battery cover and unplug the battery wires, wait a few minutes, and then about 50% of the time it might turn on after that. It also constantly loses connection to the camera despite being in the same room, about 10 feet away from the camera. Truly a bad product.

    I love that this camera has a dedicated monitor. Unfortunately, my monitor stopped charging. I contacted customer service and even though the monitor was out of warranty, customer service sent me a new one over night. Not planning on having any more kids, so I won't be buying it again, but I highly recommend it to friends.

    I've had this baby camera for both my kids. It gives great panoramic view, night vision view and very portable. Although my first camera stopped working after two years, I was able to get a replacement because of reliable customer service and product loyalty.
