Ada - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
Enjoyed using it the 3-4 times I cooked with it (mostly air frying). Unfortunately the lid is now permanently shut as the locking lever has decided to stay in the 'lock' position. Tried the pressure release function even though it hadn't actually been used in a while but it was no use. I lost a good silicone baking tray to this pot but at least I didn't lose a meal, I guess.

Not impressed. This pot made a clicking noise every time i used the saute function, water collects on the hook where the lid that divides the air fryer from regular instant pot function connects and the metal ring attached to the cover moves around so everytime I need to close the lid I have to rotate the ring so that my pot actually closes. I purchased this pot in November 2022 so its way too soon for any troubles. I love Instant pots , I've had two other versions and they were fantastic, this one however is not. I had to go out and purchase a seperate airfryer as well as a seperate Instant pot, not happy at all.

This is definitely the best Instant Pot ever made. I’ve worked my way up through the Instant Pot line-up as new models became available. The old ones got handed down to my daughter. The digital controls on this one are the most sophisticated and easiest to use. Plus, you now have the air fryer, crisper. The pressure cooker top comes out for easy cleaning and snaps right back in. It’s also built to last a long time. This is the one to get.

    Not Worth It

The pot does not beep after it is done cooking if you use natural pressure release which means you need to sit around watching it to ensure you have the right amount of time for the natural pressure release. The ring is also not removable so it is hard to clean throughly and odor is already building up after a few uses. I have not used the air fryer portion very much but I am not enjoying the pressure cooker portion, so much so that I wish I would have just gotten the 2 separate lids. Definitely not worth the price.

I was so excited to finally have a device that did EVERYTHING. Or so I thought. First thing I tried to do was use the slow cook function and it NEVER heated up and was in “preheating” mode for over an hour. Funny enough I did the set up with using the pressure cook feature and it worked flawlessly, but, for some reason it will not heat up when on slow cook mode. Very frustrating and disappointing.

I was so excited that IP came out with an air fryer/pressure cooker combo that used just one lid. Saves a lot of space. I had the old one and it was too bulky for my liking. I was using this as every day until I realized you can’t remove the inner seal and clean it. This is a major problem that will eventually lead to mold. Really gross and big design flaw. For this reason, I can’t recommend and must return it.
1 reply from Instant Brands Support team - 2 years ago
Hello Alexa. Thank you for your feedback. To clean the Pressure Cooking Cover you can hand wash with hot water and mild dish soap or wash it in dishwasher on the top rack. Always ensure the lid and ring are completely dry before storing.

Easy to use, love the recipes online. I had the basic instant pot before upgrading to this one. It’s nice having one lid for all the features. Device is bulky, but with a dedicated spot, it will be used daily. I use it for small meals to bulk meals for fast delicious food. I have not yet came across something that this device can’t cook as well as a stove or oven would. I have a lower value rating, not because isn’t worth the buying but it is a pricy device and would love to see it cheaper so more people could afford it.

I haven’t had a chance to use all of the features yet, but I’ve used sear/sauté, pressure cook and sous vide. This is a very quiet machine, and I like that you don’t need to turn a valve to pressure cook and to release the steam. You set the release type that you want upfront, or if you change your mind, you can change the pressure release type. I also like the lid being attached instead of having to fit it into a slot on top or find someplace to set it. Having open towards the back, gets it out of the way. If you choose to air fry something, you do have to take the covering off and put it somewhere, but at least everything goes back together for one compact unit. The sous vide function worked pretty well, for units on the past, I’ve read that it is about 3 degrees low, so I pushed it up by 3 degrees and was happy with it. Compared to some other pressure cooker all in one units, the sous vide setting will go up to a maximum of 99 hours and 30 minutes, so it would work well for those long sous vide cooks. I have another unit with sous vide that only went up to 24 hours which I found to be disappointing when I was doing a long cook on some beef ribs in the past. I think those needed to cook for 48 hours, so I had to catch it at the right time and reset the time. No need to do that on this unit. So I thought that was a well thought out feature to allow for the long time.

    My fourth, and my favorite

This is my fourth Instant Pot, and fifth Instant-branded product (I also have an Omni Plus toaster oven). This is by far the most versatile Instant Pot I have. I love the dual-function lid, even though it is fairly thick. It's hinged, which is a first for me, and so far I like it. The control panel was designed by somebody who clearly listened to customer feedback: it may be a learning curve for first-time Instant Pot customers, but for those already familiar with the brand, this was very simple to adapt. The progress indicator is a really nice addition. My favorite feature so far is the automatic steam release and alert when finished. (My favorite simple recipe is hard-cooked eggs. I've overcooked eggs in the past by not watching the clock. With this Pot, it does everything but the ice bath.) My plans are to use this along with at least one of its older siblings. I can do stir-fry in this while cooking rice in another, as an example. (Do keep in mind, though, that this is rated at 1500 watts, so plug into separate breaker circuits, or run one at a time.) The only function that I don't anticipate using is Sous Vide, and the only reason for that is that I have a standard Sous Vide "stick." However, I may still use the Pot to pre-heat the water, and the "stick" to circulate it, using the same inner pot throughout. I can't wait to try the yogurt function. It's my largest Instant Pot so far (even bigger than its 8-quart sibling), but given its versatility, I will find a home for it in my kitchen.
