When in use the unit requires 5 inches of space on all sides to provide proper air circulation. We do not recommend that this be used in a partially enclosed space.

A: The Vortex/parts/accessories are PFOA and BPA free and compliant with FDA standards. The coating materials for the cooking trays and drip tray do contain PTFE, also known as Teflon, and these coatings are PFOA free.

Q: Is there any trick for getting the panel to function despite the lack of real buttons? I have to press the words multiple times, often upwards of 30 seconds, to get the panel to engage. Also any plans for an upgrade with actual buttons?

Worst investment I've ever made. The air fryer does not hear equally through out. It will burn the top row of food and the middle row will be raw half cooked or raw. It is not as expected. We got it so we could cook more at once but can still only cook one row at a time or try rotating them every couple of minutes so it cooks evenly. Ultimately not worth it and have to buy a new one.

This little machine has been the best appliance I have EVER purchased. We use it for everything from reheating to roasting meat of any kind. We take it in our camper and it serves at our oven. In the summer no hot kitchen if you have this and want to bake. I make cakes and cookies in this too. I don’t know what I would do now without it!!

I used to love it but now, the temperature changes to the highest temperature on its on, no warning, and then the temperature control screen freezes so you cannot adjust it back. You have to totally unplug it before you can adjust the temp again.

I bought mine 2020 August. So it's 40 years old never had any problem with this machine I love to use the basket which is rotating so it's awesome for shrimps and french fries and chicken tenders. After 4 years the digital display not working perfectly but it's still readable and doing the job... If it would break down I would buy the exact same thing

At first, I was scared of my instant vortex air fryer oven. Now I have cooked so many things I have lost count. I absolutely love it! The only thing that I have a problem with is finding recipes for it! I love all of the options and can't really find any downside to it. It really does save on electricity so much that I haven't used my big oven during the summer.

The racks are pointless as the bottom does not cook at the same time top layer. Food cooking times and temperatures can vary and need checking frequently. The rotisserie basket destroyed tater tots in under 10 minutes. Plus, the basket was scorching hot making it alarmingly difficult to remove. As most reviews state the crumbs and grease pouring out of this makes it a nightmare to clean. If the food needs turned or just removed the crumbs and grease drip and fall all over the door and machine. After 6 months it’s been replaced for a Instant Slim basket!

We have had this air fryer for a couple of years, and all of a sudden it stopped working. I had used it to air fry potatoes, and went to air fry chicken nuggets after that and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the breakers and that wasn't the issue, checked the outlet and it was fine, it just simply died. I was very sad as we used this quite often. It does, however, get VERY dirty. The non stick trays do not stay clean very well, there are so many crevices where food/splatter gets stuck, and the door coming off is nice, but still difficult to get clean. This was great while it worked. But very sad for it's sudden departure.

We use this every day. We've had it for over a year. It's a fantastic cooker. About 6 months ago, the digital display started going haywire and it has slowly degraded into unreadable. This happended at about 1 year old. Do a search online for it, and every single unit has this problem and Instant refuses to help.

Worked great for a year, then the digital display began to fail. Couldn’t tell 3 from 6 from 8 from 9. I just kinda crossed my fingers and watched closely til I was able to replace it with something else.

door glass steams up in between and dirt is in there. Strip that is under the handle fell off shortly after purchase. Not what I expected from Vortex. Should last more than 2 years. Won't be recommending tis or buying another one.
